I own a Kitchen Aid Superba Model KSC525INWH00 refrigerator. I used to get the replacement filter cartridges at Sears for $50+. The last time I decided to just forget about filtering the water because at the price I could just as easily use a Brita Pitcher. Then I saw these filters advertised on Amazon for a lot less. A little bit of cross checking around the web convinced me that they were the same filter without the Sears labeling for a lot less money so I ordered one.
I just installed it and everything seems to be the same except for some of the labeling. It said "Double filtration" on the Sears one, but I imagine they all are double filtration. And if they aren't, the water tastes the same and for the lower cost I'm willing to go with this one. I'll be getting my filters from Amazon from now on.

I have had my refrigerator for over two years now and have used this filter purchased from Amazon and this vendor since having to replace from the beginning. I am very satisfied with the quality and price of this water filter through this vendor. The auto ordering and payment is a must for anyone who relies on your filtered water to prevent using plastic bottles. I have noticed that when the indicator on the fridge says order, it is definitely time to change. The water starts tasting bad, but I had the same experience with the higher priced filter supplied with the fridge. I saved $10 by purchasing this replacement refrigerator filter through Aamzon. I received the filter in good condition and it was easy to install. Follow the included instructions carefully for purging the air out of the new filter. My water dispenser valve stuck open until all the air was purged from the filter and water lines so I ended up with a small amount of water on the floor. The valve acted like water pressure is required to help it close. A small pitcher (~2 qt.) rather than a drinking glass may be helpful when you purge the air to alleviate water spills if your valve happens to stick open as mine did. When we recently upgraded our kitchen, our contractor suggested that we purchase a new refrigerator that would be counter width. We did and it was a great solution. The filter that came with new appliance needs to be replaced about once a year or two depending on the traffic in our house. The refrigerator was bought at Sears at a reasonably good price. The filter however when purchased through Sears was 50$. I thought that was a bit steep for something that is needed once or twice a year, so I searched on Amazon and found a filter that was approximately 40% cheaper including shipping. OK, so the product is what it is. It's a great filter with a noticeable improvement in the taste of water. This is the exact same Pur filter that is sold for the Sears Kenmore fridge and that's what counts. If your filter is blue, then this will fit - I took that chance when I ordered so I'm sharing the knowledge so y'all don't have to sweat it. They're half the department store price on Amazon AND they even give you a discount if you set it up to automatically send a new one every six months. WOOT! I don't even have to think about when it's time to change the filter 'cause Amazon will just send me a new one.
