I cannot express enough how happy I am with Amazon and how proficient and professional they have been with thier products. This is my second time ordering my replacement filter from them. I now have family members doing the same, it sure beats paying $75+ at the retail store! and instead of ordering from the competitor, I used to order from,which starts with an E_ __y. They once sent a damaged product in a damaged package.And too many mis-understandings with account issues after paying for merchandise. This product will fit Kenmore and Whirlpool since Kenmore refrigerators that use the 9020/9030 filter were manufactured by Whirlpool-KitchenAid.
The air bubbles are normal. Per the manual, when installing the filter you need to flush the water system. You need to press the water dispenser button for 5 seconds then release for 5 seconds; repeat until water begins to flow. THEN continue for another 5 minutes (pressing and releasing every 5 seconds) to flush the air from the filter. That is what the manual says anyway. I doubt I'll be pressing and releasing every 5 seconds for 5 minutes!

We have a Kenmore SBS that reminds us (at 6 mo) that its time to change the water/ice filter. Since I couldn't detect any taste issue at that time, I reset the reminder light and went a full 12 mo before our 1st change. At that point I found this PUR PBSS replacement on Amazon and for a price more than $20 lower than the "brand" replacement. It worked great so I just joined the Amazon automatic re-order program which keeps the replacement cost around $25 and I can forget it until another filter shows up! Wonderful, time-saving idea. If you own a fridge with a push-in type water filter, there are several options. Before I have purchased more expensive filters, and they worked fine. This time I purchased several of these, and I think they work just as well as the $40-$45 filters. Also a tip: my filters lasted longer than the indicator showed. Our Fridge has a digital countdown timer and when it hits zero, time to change the filter. When it hit zero, I reset it, and it got down to about 80 before we could taste the bad stuff in the water, so about 4 extra weeks of filter life. Had ordered this filter since the refregirator (Kenmore Elite) displayed the filter status as "order." The filter arrived apprxoimately 4 biz days with free shipping and the filter status still displayed as "order" and eventually changed to "replace" after a couple of more weeks later. Getting old one out and putting new one in took less than a minute.
The filter instruction recommands about 3 gallons of flush for the first use and that's a bit of downside but maybe common for other brand as well(?)
The water tastes good that's all it counts.
