First time changing filter. Not sure if all do this, but when i changed, we had extremely high pressure. Im guessing it was acting like there wasnt a filter in at all. Caused water to keep flowing a bit (without pressing).
After that strangeness, took about 6 pitchers to get airbubbles out of filter, etc.
Kenmore and Whirlpool are the samer thing more or less. Works fine now its been in use.
Definately cheaper than getting the kenmore one

I have replaced the ice and water filter on my side by side Kitchen Aid refrigerator,by my self. The part came with written instructions and the old filter came out easy without getting any water on floor. The new Pur filter went into the slot and that was it. I need to turn the filter to get the old filter out.
It took 2 days for the refrigerator sensors to register the filter had been changed. I would have like to know the filter will register after a short time!

I've always gone to Sears and purchased this item. HOWEVER, it is cheaper on Amazon, plus with Amazon Prime you can have it delivered in 2 days and if you so choose you can get an even bigger discount if you sign up for autoship (30% discount I think). I am glad I decided to check Amazon before leaving the house! This item is exactly what you would buy in the store, just priced better. This filter fits the same as the Mfg replacement. We only drink water from the frig so for 2 adults and 1 water drinking child it lasted us 5 months before the frig indicator turned red. The only difference I have found is the negative pressure that I occasionally hear after the ice maker fills up, not a problem. Save your money, drink clean water! If they could only figure out a way to get crystal light to come out of these things!!!Customer Review: PURR FIlter

Excellent product and replacement for the more expensive counterpart sold from Sears, which is needed in my refrigerator. Savings were substantial enough to always purchase this PURP Filter Cartridge from Amazon. The filter itself performs without incident, fits exactly into the compartment without incident and if you didn't know the item was not a Sear's part, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Highly recommend.
