Bought this for a Kenmore refrigerator, but I think Whirlpool makes the unit for sears. Sears wants $35 plus shipping for this same filter with the Kenmore name on it so I started buying it for $30 at Lowes until they stopped caring it. Amazon is the cheapest place to get these!
Filter works perfectly as advertised and I have no problems to report what soever.

I've tried multiple different water filters for my refrigerator. Most of them (even the more expensive) have a really odd taste that only goes away over time. Sometimes it takes a week for that strange taste to go away. The PUR filter is good, right out of the box. I always run the prescribed 3 gallons of water through the filter first too. I ordered this filter as the first replacement for our 48" Dacor refrigerator. It works perfectly. The only issue I had was that Dacor did not document that the bottom grate (where the filter is located) had to be removed before the filter knob could be successfully turned! Unfortunately for Dacor, they had to pay for a service call to find out what was going on!Customer Review: Fit Fridge As Advertised

I'm always a little afraid to order substitute brands, but the price and the picture of the Pur Filter product gave me a little more confidence to give it a try. It took a little long to get delivered than I expected, but once here it fit my Kitchenaid Side-By-Side Refrigerator perfectly and was easy to install. I actually need help before I can review the product. I simply can't get the old filter out of my refrigerator to be able to try the new filter. I've read the instructions and looked at the picture but the "knob" won't turn or budge at all. We even tried to turn it with pliers but being plastic I'm afraid it'll damage it.
