This filter has the same specifications as the Sears filter, yet it costs $10 dollars less. I have found it filters the indoor water as well as the Sears. Would recommend this filter to anyone with a Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator with this quarter turn filter in the bottom grill (actually manufactured by Whirlpool).Customer Review: Better price,same job

Very please with this water filter. This was my first purchase for the water filter on my fridge and I was hesitant since it was not the actual name brand of my fridge compatible filter...no probs. My fridge is a kenmore model # 59582990(model#found on inside of fridge )this filter fit just fine, I can't tell any difference from more expensive ones I have bought. I must have gotten a dud filter because this filter only made the water taste worst than tap. The after taste this filter creates is beyond bad.I must have emptied over 20 gallons of water and no improvement in taste. The filter fits just fine. As one who uses water filtration in my line of work, I know the benefits. However, where I live the water is of excellent quality so I am not too sure that it is that necessary that I use it.
I use it for coffee making and when I want cold water (from the 'frige') ...
