Tools and Hardware Reviews of Paladin Tools 4915 Compression Crimp Bundle for the Smart Home A/V Kit

Customer Review: Great tool to have for cable installation
Summary: 5 Stars

I knew nothing about cable installation. After previewing several video demonstrations on [......], I decided to use compression type fitting. I started shopping for tools, and saw this one at the store. Although this tool is a little bit on the pricy side, I decided to try it provided it had a money-back return policy from the vendor. I had a problem using it the first time - because of my lack of knowledge on how to use it, and not because of the product. I called the manufacturer and they returned my call promptly. They even took pictures on how to do certain things, and emailed them to me. I found this tool to be convenient to use, and manufacturer's technical support is great. I did the job or rewiring my cables the same day I received the tool. Now I have the freedom of making custom-size cables. I would highly recommend this tool to anyone.

Customer Review: Worth the considerable cost
Summary: 5 Stars

If you are need to do RG6 compression fittings besides the most common F-type (used by cable TV) this is the tool to get. It handles BNC (used by security cameras) and RCA (used for A/V) terminations which most of the other tools will not do. If you are not interested in anything other than F-type you could probably save a few bucks and get a different compression tool (like the Data Shark, which is their cheaper line). The tool is high quality and works very well.

For those considering going the crimp route instead, the difference between compression fittings and crimp fittings are night and day. The compression tool and ends cost more, but it is worth it in frustration and labor savings. The ends are secure and do not come off once applied unlike the crimp fittings. They also look a heck of a lot better and much more professional.

Customer Review: Nice tools for the home user
Summary: 4 Stars

If I was making cables for a living, this product, particularly the stripper, wouldn't last forever. However, for my home DIY usage, moving the occasional dish box or tv around, this is ideal. Only ding is that there are no useful instruction in the package. I crushed the heck outta my first connector because the head wasn't setup right. Pretty easy to figure out after that...

Customer Review: Instructions?
Summary: 2 Stars

A quality product is about the whole experience. The instructions packaged with this product were almost worthless. Not even anything on the Paladin website. Thankfully I figured it out after ruining 3 jacks. I guess this is how Paladin can sell more of their products.

Customer Review: Great after Adjustments
Summary: 4 Stars

The compression crimp worked great. Took a little bit to adjust it so I lost a few pieces to that. The stripper and additional pieces aren't of much use. I run my own cable and have had great success with this tool.
