Customer Review: Great Idea But So-So Execution, Installation Gotchas

I'll be the first to admit that I really like this shower head. What doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling is how lightly it's constructed. I'll be surprised if it lasts more than a year or two. Still it's so nice that I won't mind replacing it every couple of years.
One other thing to keep in mind is how long this thing is. If you look closely at the picture you'll see that the shower head will sit roughly 2-3" lower than a standard shower head. So unless you're under 5'6" you may want to replace the pipe coming out of the wall with a pipe that raises this shower head up a few inches. I'm fairly handy with tools and replaced the pipe for with one of these s-curved pipes. 8" Antique Copper S-Curved Shower Head Wall Arm Pipe I'm guestimating that a plumber will charge you $100-120 parts and labor to replace the pipe. It's not hard to do but obviously if you do it yourself you'll need to be careful to avoid leaks inside your wall.

I like almost everything about this shower head.
I don't find it fragile. I like the pressure and I like the different spray patterns from the hand unit.
I like being able to use the hand unit while still being showered from above.
As for the person that thinks this thing is not a water saver, this shower and all other showers legal for sale in the United States are 'low flow' devices. If it drains water faster than the 'low flow' standard, it is not a legal product.
My problem with this head is personal--I've got one of those "automatic shower cleaner" thingies hanging below my shower. This shower head makes it impossible to keep that item in the shower.
Since I'm more attached to a clean shower than I am to this shower head, I returned it for a hand shower of more compatible design. The showering experience is still nice, though not as good as with the Peerless 2-in-1.

I got this for Christmas and am thrilled with it. This is a fantastic showerhead. Its very easy to install and works great! There are 3 different ways you can have it set to. You can have it on the base, the hand-held or both. The hand-held itself has 4 different settings.
Some people think that it doesn't give off much water pressure. Now the base isn't going to be real harsh, but I don't like it that way. Its not a trickle or mist or anything. Its a nice, calm amount. The hand-held gives you a little more pressure, which is more than enough for me. I don't like the ones that hit you so hard they hurt your skin.
Now, if you use both the hand-held and the base, it puts out quite a bit of water. I only use one or the other b/c the water starts pooling in the tub. But I don't think both are needed anyway.
I absolutely love mine. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat and recommend it to anyone.

I like this system overall and would recommend it. The water covers quite a large area. And the water flow does not beat you as some other shower heads. it's very soft and calming, just the way I like it. the massaging settings are not very strong. It didn't feel like massage. When you set the water to the shower head only (no water from handheld), it becomes stronger due to not splitting the water into two items.
my only complain about this is the hose. It could have been a foot or two longer. it's barely enough to cover my son's body (3-yr-old). i should turn him around to reach all parts of his body. in addition, the hose is really stiff. I don't know if it'll get softer in time since I only have it for a couple of weeks now. I could have returned it because the main purpose was to be able bath my son easily which it does not help much. but I got lazy in addition to wanting to keep it for my own pleasure :)

We have gone through a dozen different types of shower heads in the last year trying to find one we're happy with. This is it. The flow is great. You can use the one on hose end by itself or use it while letting the one that's permanently attached at top flow at the same time. It took my husband just a few minutes to install. He says if you hold the arm coming out of shower firmly and don't swivel the unit as you put it on (rather you should tighten the bolt or thingie by itself to attach), then you will have no leaks. We have none, so evidently he done it right. The hose isn't as long as our old one but it still reaches good enough for us to bathe dogs with. If you have a really huge bath though and you want it to reach to the far end, you might not be happy though. A really good price on this product too. We've tried others that were nearly this expensive that didn't do half as good a job and tore up in no time.
