For over a year I have been looking for a "rain" shower head with a handheld attachment. The ones that I've tried from bed/bath stores were flimsy and difficult to operate. I was skeptical about the Peerless system because of its plastic material. But after reading the reviews and the, let's face it, unbeatable price, I thought it wouldn't hurt to give it a try.
I have absolutely no regrets about this purchase. I wasn't home when the item was delivered so my 67 y.o. DIY-challenged mother was sweet enough to take it upon herself to install it. She did it in minutes, with no tools required. I have had no problems with leaks. The water pressure, flow, and span of stream is perfect, a huge improvement from my previous shower head. The attachment is easy to take on and off for cleaning the shower walls or bathing my daughter. Another plus is how easy it is to change the stream settings! My last handheld shower head, I would injure myself trying to turn the knob. The neck of the head is so flexible, you could angle it however way is convenient for you. This "rain" type shower head has made my shower experience even more pleasant.

I just had the best shower of my life. The Peerless 2-in-1 system delivered water in a wide spray so that large parts of my body were covered at once. I didn't have to move back and forth to get coverage, and I didn't feel cold air on other parts of my body (as I do when the shower has a dead spot in the center, or a narrow stream). I could switch easily between just having the outside U-shaped part spraying, just having the handheld part spraying, or having both (my preference). It was also easy to choose the different spray options from the handheld portion, from need through massage through heavy stream, to just straight spraying.
I'll try to report back in a few months on longevity, but right now this is better than any rainshower or multi-choice shower head I have tried. I even prefer it to having multiple shower heads spraying me from different angles. Too bad it doesn't come in brass or gold (the rest of my fixtures are gold), but to me the physical experience is more important than matching colors. It is at least a decent-looking shower head, not like the cheap white plastic ones that some manufacturers make.

I just installed it and took a shower using this new head 20 minutes ago. Installation was very simple. The water pressure (at the default 2.5 gpm) and spread are excellent. Since many people have already sung the virtues of this shower head, I'll just say they are all correct, this is a wonderful unit and is worth every penny I spent on it (and yes, it had all its washers).
The only caveat I have is that the vertical angle of this shower head is quite limited, so if you're really tall, it may be spraying you in the eyes or the chest instead of a good soaking from your scalp. I'm 5'8" and the shower head pipe in my shower stall is positioned at 6' height. After installation, the angle of the Peerless shower head is just about OK. If I was 6' tall, the shower head would be spraying me right in the eyes instead of slightly over my head.
So if you're worried about the height, check where your shower head pipe is position before buying this unit. You need at least a 4" height clearance between the shower head pipe and the top of your head to really enjoy this unit (5" or more would be ideal).

Gee, for the price, who could ever complain?? This turned out to be a very happy buy for us. We replaced a standard shower head. It's been a couple months. It gets daily use. No issues. All is good. No cheap workmanship here.
One of my happiest uses: CLEANING!! I easily washed a many drawered, VERY muddied, dirty plastic cabinet that I dragged home from the Goodwill. I was overjoyed with my filthy find..but no clue how or where to begin cleaning it up...then it hit me...I have that new shower wand!! So, I placed the dirty thing in shower and used the hand-held on it, up and down into every crevice. Poof--dirt gone WITH EASE and QUICKLY!!!!! (It does a nice job on my FEET, too...and other hard-to-reach with water places.)
Yes, it does kinda stick out into the shower space more than the old head did..and at first, that concerned me when I saw it up and installed. But my 6'2" husband has no problem with that and really likes showering with this. We agree: we'd buy another without batting an eye if there were a need. Good purchase! :) Thanks to all other other reviewers who helped us make the decision to buy.

I bought this based on the glowing reviews even though the low price made me doubtful.
We have very high water pressure at our house and tend to go through shower heads quickly. I have lost count of how many we have actually purchased in the 7 years at our home, but there have been quite a few more expensive than this one. Not a single one came anywhere close to the quality of this Peerless model.
The Incredibly Good
This horseshoe provides a wonderful "waterfall" immersion experience while the arm gives you the fleixbillity for washing your children's hair, massaging aching muscles, grooming pets, blasting blinds and cleaning the shower. Nothing I have used has even come close to providing such a wonderful rich stream.
The Bad
It is not one of the more attractive showerheads out there. But after a few uses it will become the most beautiful thing in the world to you.
As a side note, the option to split the pieces apart makes for a wonderful couples shower where neither of you left in the cold.
I would buy this again, and again, and again...
