Tools and Hardware Reviews of Peerless 76950 2-in-1 Shower System, ChromeCustomer Review: This shower head is terrific! Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this shower head even though some reviewers thought it wasn't an easy install. I was correct that in thinking that some people just have trouble installing things and I could probably install it just fine. I did - I had it up in five minutes! It leaked at first from the coupling that attaches the shower head to the pipe coming out of the wall, but then I just wrapped some tissue around it and got out my trusty pliers and cranked it a little tighter. Presto - no more leak! (It actually states in the instructions that you may have to use pliers at that point but that the rest of the tightening can be done by hand.) The water pressure it provides is so superior to the one that I replaced that it was almost too much for me! I really like it! The only thing I would change about the unit is that I think that the hose looks cheap, sort of like a replacement kitchen sink hose, and detracts from it's overall look. I am thinking of looking around on the net to find a hose with a little more class to it. Overall, though, I think it is really a nice handheld shower unit for the price.
Customer Review: Let it rain! Summary: 5 Stars
My husband and I wanted to purchase a rain shower head and I saw this while looking around and purchased it. I surprise my husband by not telling him it came in and when he saw it he was like Whoa, b/c we are in a rental the shower stall is old and small so it looked huge ok... just bigger than what we previously had. After his shower he was so excited and wanted one for our guest bathroom too, which I'd already guessed and told him I'd taken care of it and originally bought two. We love this because many of the rain shower heads do not detach and the idea that the outer shower head part is still showering when you're using the detachable it was great. The price was a steal too.
It was super easy to install. I really didn't need a tool or anything and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. Although I did change the steps since it wanted me to start by putting it together as you go in the shower stall, I figured my arm would give out before I was done so I put all the parts together and then installed it in the shower which was easier and a lot less painful.
Customer Review: great shower experience Summary: 4 Stars
I had bought this shower head to replace the old, dribbley one that was already installed in the shower when we bought the house.
I went online and researched, and selected this Peerless 2-1 system. It was extremely easy to install, fit well, and is easy to maneuver. The handheld is easy to hold, lightweight, and hose is very flexible.
The two in one system is very nice when you need both the traditional spray & the handheld. It is nice to be able to switch the center (handheld) spray patterns to give a custom experience. We have low-average water pressure and the spray is great! The cris-cross spray is unique.
It has a good wide range, without being too wide that it goes around you. And it is smooth to adjust the whole head up & down to the right angle between me (5'5" and my roomate 6'4").
This model has outperformed the more expensive WaterPik models that are at my parent's house. I would recommend this to anyone in need of a very reasonably priced shower head.
Customer Review: Awesome shower head, but YMMV.. Summary: 4 Stars
First things first:
1. We've had strong water pressure through this thing, much stronger than with our last shower head. So no complaints there.
2. It has a WIDE SPRAY. This can be both very nifty or a little messy, depending upon what type of shower surround you have. I have curtains on the side and front of the tub, so I have to be careful about where I aim the head. This showerhead will be absolutely amazing for wider people, as long as your shower is carefully water proofed.
3. In my shower, it's a little lower than I expected. I've tried angling it in different directions, but it's still slightly lower than I'd prefer. A minor quibble, though, and it'll be fine for anyone of average height.
I love the idea of this shower head and it works as intended. I can't comment yet on the durability of it, since I've only had it a few days. It doesn't look like it'll last particularly long, but it's inexpensive and I'll be happy to get a couple of years out of it.
Customer Review: A watery delight Summary: 5 Stars
Got this about a week ago. Works flawlessly. Thinking about getting another for a second bath. One point to note though. Since this is a second floor shower, the hot water always takes a little while to reach it from the first floor heater. With both heads running, hot water reaches this in much less time than with the previous "water saver" shower head. Makes me suspicious that with both parts of this head switched on, it uses more GPH than the old one. I sort of get the feeling that with either the stationary part or the handheld part turned off, it is about equal in GPH to the low flow head it replaced. No notation of water flow anywhere in the documentation or description. If absolute minimum water usage is a real consideration of yours you may want to look elsewhere. Or you may want to turn off the wide stationary part and shower with about half the water use. Kind of like having a water saving head and a decadent, luxurious combination. And with both heads on, it is luxurious.
