Customer Review: Cushion parts fell off

My workplace is noisy, so I bought these. The price is right. They
muffle all of the harsh sounds. After a while, if you wear them long
enough, though, your ears get sore. You have to take them off every so often.
Another problem. I left them in my hot car and ever since then, both
cushions fall out. They don't fit into the canister tight enough. Both
of them fell out one day when I was walking with them in my hand. If
someone hadn't pointed it out, they would have been lost. I'm going to
have to get some Atomic Glue and glue them in. I also use them as
cheap headphones. I use ear buds and place these over them. It works
great, especially for audio books. It's hard to understand audio
books in my work environment. After I glue them, they should be fine.
I'd give them a 4 or 5 if they didn't make my ears sore, or fall apart.
Recommended. Just make sure the cushions fit tight.

I purchased this product for use at an indoor firing range, where my number one concern was/is top notch hearing protection and the Peltor Ultimate 10 delivered.
On my first trip to the range, I was placed next to a gentleman firing an array of the most powerful handguns available on the market today, including a .50 caliber Desert Eagle and a S&W 500. Despite the enormous report from both weapons (which I could feel as much as hear), the actual noise that made in through to my ear never reached an uncomfortable level.
On the negative side, the earmuffs themselves are quite large and can look a bit silly. Still, I couldn't notice the added size once I was shooting. And ultimately, the name of the game here is ear protection. If it comes down to a choice between looking goofy and keeping my ears safe, that's a no-brainer.

We took my son to his first airshow in Rockford this year. He has very sensitive hears. Even from the 3rd row way in the back of our suv, he can hear us clearly when we talk in a low voice to each other.
I would hate to ruin his hearing ability.
Needless to say, he hated the air show and refused to look at the extremely loud airplanes. While we were there I even found some plug in the ear type. They helped, but not enough and he disliked having them in his ear.
Got these and they fit him just fine. He had a great time at the Chicago airshow.
I wasted too much time looking for earmuffs made for kids. I need not have bothered.
I wish I used something like this more often when I was younger.

I now own two sets of Peltor earmuffs, I also have the H10 Optime 105 series earmuffs and I bought these since the NRR was slightly higher and because I love my Peltor H10s I decided to try these. These are very comfortable, I use them in the house and at the range. Both are outstanding for noise cancellation, and if you read my reviews you will see I am *very* interested in quiet as I own and have reviewed earplugs and earmuffs. I had a cold recently and could not wear my normal earplugs to sleep with and these were a good substitute, they are tight enough to not fall off while I was sleeping yet they did not crush my ears or make them sore. I am a big fan of Peltor products and recommend them to anyone looking to greatly reduce the amount of noise in their life.Customer Review: Fantastic pair -- perfect 10

These are by far my favorite hearing protectors.
1. Very quiet.
2. Durable
3. Good value
4. Comfortable.
I use them when using power tools and also in the airplane. These units have the best trade-offs: you can still hear people talk (very softly to you) and have fantastic noise reduction. These units are also very very comfortable -- my best pair.
Other units I've owned include the folding Peltor and an Howard Leight (super-high NRR). The blue Peltor is my favorite.
BTW, the person who gave this hearing protection a 1 star is just plain _stupid_. This product is meant to filter out NOISE, NOT INCLUDING SPEECH. This is a .. duh .. safety product.
