I wanted to listen to music on the garden tractor but even the best noise canceling headphones can't compete with the racket. However, using earbuds with my iPod and these over the top, I can enjoy my tunes while riding. The tractor noise is greatly reduced so I can appreciate the music. The same arrangement will work in other situations where loud tools make listening to music an impossibility. I was pretty desperate, not just to while away the hours cutting the pasture, but after adding a tow-behind leaf vacuum with a separate engine, the noise level went off the charts. These do not eliminate all noise (wish they did) but are, by far, the best solution I've found to both hearing protection and music enjoyment.Customer Review: Excellent protection at an incredibly affordable price!

My husband and I have had these headsets for more than a month now and we use them frequently at the gun range. We have been extremely pleased with the noise protection and the comfort ... especially considering the price! They definitely fit tightly on the head, so I take off my earrings (which hurt if I leave them on) but they don't hurt with my glasses on (something I was concerned about). Instead, the tight fit ensures the best hearing protection, and the cups are soft so they are comfortable. I've only worn them for a couple of hours at a time, and I can say that I am usually a little relieved to take them off, but true discomfort has never been an issue and I would definitely recommend these to other people!Customer Review: Great sound protection but very tight on your head

I read the reviews for this product and decided to give it a shot. After using it, I can definitely say that it is excellent! My only complaint is that it fits extremely snug and you might have to work your ears into it. The band on the top isn't like headphones in that there is no adjustment for people with different sized heads. I can get sunglasses or safety glasses on with them but I don't think a hat would work. I suppose that it might be important for it to be very tight to ensure a snug fit to help dampen the noise. Be warned if you use these outside because they will make your head and ears sweat. If you want excellent hearing protection, these will fit the bill if you don't mind a tight fit.Customer Review: Peltor Ultimate 10

These have the most noise attenuation 30db than any other muffs. They are most comfortable. My thin frame glasses do not interfere with cushion seal. I wear them even when I am driving auto on open road. They cut down tire noise. I have ringing in ears anyway-tinnitus. They are heavy duty and resemble the muffs (micky mouse ears) that I used in the USAF. Probably samething.
They block out the entire spectrum of undesirable noise. I compared them with Bose QC-15. Bose was slightly better blocking jet sounds. But in all other ranges the QC-15s are no match. If you do much air traveling, save yourself The $300 for the QC-15s and wear the Ultimate 10s.

I work in a pretty typical cubicle environment and I purchased these earmuffs because I was looking for a way to drown out the background noise and chatter. Being someone who needs absolute silence to work productively I can say with full confidence that this is the best $20 I've spent in a while. These babies block out the vast majority of noise completely, and whatever comes through is muffled to the point where it's basically negligible. They were a little hard to get used to at first because of the head pressure that's inherent to all earmuffs, but I now wear them throughout most of the day every single workday.
