Customer Review: Best Hearing Protection Tried to Date

Peltor 97010 Ulimate-10 Hearing Protector is the most effective and comfortable hearing protection headset to date. Have tried more expensive S&W...but less effective and less comfortable. Have tried Remington brand too, but headband broke within months...pure juke with a Remington brand stamped on.
I wear glasses and need a set to fit around glass frame and still work and be comfortable. I've tried others and Peltor 97010 works the best at the gun range. Hearing is fine even after an hour of shooting. Comfortable too.
Highest marks.

30dB NRR for 22 bucks? You can't beat that. I've owned a pair of Peltor Ultimate 10s for almost 10 years and I love them. They fit snugly, sit lightly on my head and achieve a tight, leak-proof seal.
Pair these with some foam plugs and you have some serious hearing protection. I like to double up at the indoor range; according to my wife, I need to save what hearing I have left. She liked mine so much that I bought a set for her.
One day I'll purchase a pair of electronic muffs, but until then I won't use anything but these.

This blows my old hearing protectors away, and I wish I had them years ago. My air conditioner is so loud I have to wear earplugs or a headset protector like this. When I put these on, I couldn't believe how the noise disappeared. The only thing I found disturbing was the statement that "typical life for foam cushions is 6 months". Now, I don't mind paying 20 dollars for these great hearing protectors, but wouldn't want to pay that every 6 months. Does anyone have any long term experience that reflects on that statement?Customer Review: Perfect for Shooting Range

This is perfect for shooting range, ear muffs are wide/bulky, but your protecting your eardrums which is more important than the design. The blast of a .45 ACP are still loud with these muffs but suppressed to movie theatre volume, but I do not feel any pain from my eardrums which is a good thing.
Also the description says it can withstand magnums, get one of the highest level of ear protection even if you don't have a magnum firearm, someone in the range might so you still need protection.

I bought this hearing protection because I am a senior citizen who has become protective of her hearing. I vacuum regularly and in the summer use a power mower. I had the little foam inserts that were not effective. The first time I used the Peltor hearing protectors I was amazed at how quiet the vacuum motor became. For the lawn mower sound I will have to wait until spring. I saw myself in a mirror and they aren't pretty but they sure muffle the sound and are reasonably comfortable.
