These were a great idea. I can use these in both indoor and outdoor ranges. They are comfortable and work as advertised.
The only disadvantage that I've found is that it's quite common to wear both in-ear protectors as well as muff-style protectors, but depending on how shallow or deep your over-the-ear protectors are, these earplugs protrude out quite far and might not fit under them.
As a general note, triple-flanged earpieces like this tend to go deeper into your ear than foam earplugs. This can be painful for some people or can cause irritation.

good outdoor plugs green side works as well as other in the ear plugs.
yellow is really only good for shotgun and lower intensity firearms outdoors.
I would not use theses for anything other than lighter pistol loads indoors.
I was beside a guy shooting .223 outdoors and the high pitched sound was not muffled enough.
but lower pitched sounds were blocked fairly well.
I, like another person who posted, tend to use 1 and 1 when shooting with friends.
green on the shooting side and yellow on the other side so I can hear what others are saying.

All I can say is I'm satisfied with the earplugs. They fit snuggly into my ears, aren't bulky like earmuffs (I hate earmuffs) and do a good job of keeping the noise down.
I will say I haven't had a lot of success using the reactive (yellow) side so I pretty much stick to the constant protection (olive drab) side. If you want you can run a lanyard around the rings on the side that you never use to hang around your neck as well.
All in all, much better than the walmart special earplugs and way better than dealing with earmuffs. Worth the money.

They work, just got done shooting and tried both sides. The yellow ends allow you to hear a bit more of what is going on, i could hear feet shuffling and conversations while shooting, all the while muffling the percussion of the gunshot.
Tried the green side and they sound like your typical expensive full earmuff, as long as you get a snug fit then you won't have a problem ensuring protection to your hearing from just about anything.
A MUST BUY FOR ANY SHOOTER! Wear your goggles without interference and protect your hearing, they are great.

The ear muffs I use at the indoor and outdoor range sold for$35. Most of the time they do the job of protecting my hearing but at times, they are not adequate. I now use the Peltor Combat Arms earplugs in addition to the earmuffs and am very satisfied with the results. I realize that I should not need the double protection but I feel comfortable wearing the ear plugs with ear muffs and am able to hear the announcements to fire and cease fire at the range. In brief---a great item and one that I highly recommend to others.
