Tools and Hardware Reviews of Porta-Nailer 461 1-Inch 18-Gauge Narrow (1/4-Inch) Crown Flooring StaplerCustomer Review: Indispensable when doing a 3/8" exotic hardwood floor Summary: 5 Stars
This nailer / stapler has been a life saver. I am 1/2 way done with installing a new Bellawood Brazillian Koa floor (3/8") and I'd still be on the first 1/10th if it wasn't for this tool.
Works like a champ once you get the pressure dialed in.
The only issue that I've had is that it doesn't always pull the next staple and sometimes fires a blank. I've greased the chute and that seems to have helped a little.
Overall... great tool that is well made.
Customer Review: A little overpriced...... Summary: 3 Stars
Purchased gun to install 1/2" solid bamboo flooring was recommended by a lateral flooring manufacturer. It performed ok but jammed a few times and I had to shim angled foot to improve performance. I felt tool was a bit overpriced for a basic narrow crown stapler which can be purchased at any home improvement store for less tan $100. That makes the foot retrofit a very expensive accessory, but with limited sales potential the high price the manufacturer probably justifies the price....
Customer Review: Gets the job done. Summary: 4 Stars
The Porta-Nailer works very well. It's not as polished as the Bostitch probucts and lacks quality directions. But it's cake to figure out if it is your first time using a pneumatic nailer. The 45 degree foot is absolutely essential and makes the equivalent Bostitch like $100 more and totally not worth it. Has worked like a champ so far on about 300sqft of flooring...not a single jam or problem. I have another 600 to go so it's been a good start.
Customer Review: Super Engineered Flooring Stapler Summary: 5 Stars
I got this stapler yesterday. A couple of drops of lubricant, installed the air hose fitting and hooked up to my compressor. 2 hours later a beautiful floor and not one jam or misfire! This is a super product. Not only does it have the angle head for the flooring, but comes with a staight staple nose too. I used 1 1/4 inch staples, which other staplers of this type do not use. Also came with case and DVD. Great Product!!!
Customer Review: porta-nailer simple to use Summary: 5 Stars
just installed 600 sq ft of 5/16 bruce hardwoods. this gun was amazingly
simple to use and never jammed. I was able to contol depth with the pressure
regulator. Used only about 65 psi to get the job done. Highly recommend it to any one. Came with a nice case and adapter to convert to a regular nail gun. It uses the staple type nails. I used most of the 5,000 staples i bought with this gun to do the 600 sq. ft.
