Customer Review: Great Product, Great Amazon Service

First, let me say Amazon service is superb. My order came without the chainbar. UPS delivered box was torn open, so suspect that the part might have went missing in transit. I immediately emailed customer service which advised by return email that a new order was in the works to cover the one with the missing part, no charge to me and one day delivery service. This because the original order was not returnable due to it being a gasoline operated tool. I would have been happy if just the chainbar was sent, but apparently too unwieldy order-wise or cheaper just to send a duplicate of the order. Second order arrived on time and complete - but with the chainbar sticking out the side of the box. I think there's a manufacturer packaging problem. In my five decades of dealing with companies and problems on products, few meet the standard that Amazon has established for itself.
Always leery on `refurbs.' After checking the chainsaw over carefully for any obvious defects, read the manual, assembled, filled with the correct 2 cycle fuel mixture and bar oil and cranked it up. Did need choking and priming, as advised in the manual, but fired up and ran smoothly. Bucked two forty-foot oak tree trunks about 15" in diameter in short order, with one refill on the gas and bar oil. Cut like butter. And, this with an obviously used chain. Sawchain stalled twice because of the size of the trunks toward the base, a little thicker than average, but otherwise did a great job. This was seasoned, dry wood which for me generally is easier to cut than fresh felled.
This saw replaced a well cared for 17 years old Sears chainsaw which seized when I inadvertently ran it on 4 cycle (no oil) gas. An excellent piece of equipment that served me well - until I saw what this new saw did. Starting, running, safety, ease of use and accessibility (filling with gas and oil) was much better in the Poulan Pro. The external chain adjustment apparatus worked well. Unsure why others who rated chainsaw as being so poor had trouble. Can only think it was the individual item that was either inadequately refurbished or possibly not operated carefully. It doesn't take much to screw things up as evidenced by my mishap with my Sears chainsaw.
