Customer Review: What a great bargain even if it made in China

I was a bit leery in purchasing this generator for the simple fact of the no return policy and that its made in China and that its really low price compared to other brand names. But I bit the bullet and ordered one. Received it in two days (free shipping). It seemed to be in new condition but when I turned it over I did see some scrap marks on the roll cage. Some oil also was on the bottom of the motor. After I finished putting on the wheel kit, threw some oil and gas in it I turned the key and it fired right up. I ran it for about 15 minutes and turned it off. I ran it again the next day and ran 2 sump pumps with it. I'm not a camper or contractor, I just need a backup generator for when the power goes out so I think this one should serve the purpose well. I do recommend the electric start generator. The pull rope is a little awkward to use. And I have to say its fairly quiet. I feel good about this purchase but I know with products like these it can be hit or miss.Customer Review: Great Buy & No Pull Starting Necessary

It all started when my neighbor bought himself a generator. It got me to thinking too. After going through countless (atleast 15) gens. online info, I came across this one. Ordered, & received in 2 days,free shipping from Amazon. As I had read on an earlier review, this thing was packaged perfectly. After following the quick instructions, it was ready to start, the ONLY thing I needed to buy was a quart of oil, (no oil in unit due to shipping restraints). Even without charging the supplied battery it started. So, I wanted to see how it worked just for kicks, just by plugging into an elec. outlet, throwing the breaker, it powered my saws, lights, 1 hp. air compressor, vacuum system & drill press in my barn. I did have to make a double male extension cord. If you are considering this technique, remember cord is powered on exposed plug, be careful. The first thing you should be aware of is that DuroMax generators are made in China. So far none of the adds I have looked indicate this.
I bought 2 of the DuroMax XP4400E and was never made aware that these are Chinese made products. So far my two have worked OK but haven't really been put to any real test yet. The price was good and the shipping fast but I'm primarily looking for reliability and Chinese made products haven't provided this in the past but maybe it will be different this time.
I really wish I was aware of the country where they were produced in advance. I might still have bought one of them but it would have had an influence on my decision.
So far mine look OK but if your are in the market for a generator, remember "they are made in Chine" and be aware before making your purchase.

I recently purchased a used RV for my family to go on vacation. The RV has an AC unit. I looked around online for a unit with the power to supply 30 Amps, something that wouldn't be too heavy or large to transport, and for a price I could afford. I found all three in this unit. It has sufficient power to run my AC unit, it is light enough for my wife and I to load it in the trailer, and I couldn't believe it had electric start all for less than $500.00. I took it out in mid June and used it 4 hours a day for 5 days. I mainly ran a battery charger to keep the trailer batteries charged (didn't have to run the AC much), and I only used one tank of gas. So while my experience only includes 20 hours run time (hopefully it will last for years) I am completely and totally satisfied with this purchase.Customer Review: A great generator (especially at the price)!!!

I've been researching portable generators for months prior to deciding on this one. Honestly, I could not be happier with my choice. The product is quality built, even though it is from China. The wheel kit was so easy to install that even a cave man could do it (sorry)! Upon arrival, I put oil and fuel in it and it started immediately. Hooked up the electric chain saw and began trimming tree limbs. The generator is easy to use and has all of the excess power that I will need for my power tools. I have a 1 acre lot, with lots of trees, and it is impossible to get power where it is needed. This unit is the answer.
I actually ordered the recoil start generator, but they must have been out of them and upgraded me to the electric start unit. Talk about making an old guy really happy!
