I don't recommend using this adapter on household outlets...EVER. Take a close look at the name of this item, "adapter for...GENERATOR" (added emphasis). If you tried using this device on in your home, it isn't the product that is hazardous, it is the user that is hazardous.
30 AMP connections for RVs should always be on a dedicated circuit that can support more than 30 AMPs, with a 30 AMP breaker or fuse. If you are going to install a dedicated 15 AMP household circuit so you can use this adapter in your home, you are better off just installing the proper 30 AMP outlet instead.
If you already have a pair of 15 AMP outlets on a dedicated circuit that can support 30 AMPs, this adapter might work, but caveat emptor!!!! It isn't the seller's or manufacturer's fault you ignored the name of this product.

New dual 15 AMP (or 20 AMP in many generators) to 30 AMP AC adapter. For RVs, Motorhomes, Campers. Use on most generators and RV Park (with traditional 15 AMP outlet). This listing is for one of this adapter. You are looking at a perfect adapter for converting most generator's dual 20 AMP receptacles to a 30 AMP RV (TT-30) receptacle. It is best to use on a generator and the power outlet for some RV Parks. It also fits perfectly to your home outlets. (the spacing between the 15 AMP plug is 1.6" which is the standard spacing on most generators). Fits most generators with standard plug spacing, this includes the following popular models: Honda EU1000i, EU2000i, EU3000is. Kipor KGE1000Ti, KGE2000Ti, KGE3000Ti, KGE3000THi. Yamaha EF1000IS, EF2400I, EF2800I, EF3000ISE. Note: Due to some confusion from customers who are not familiar with electricity, I want to clarify what this device does. This device would not increase the power of your generator produce. If your generator has a max. output of 2000 Watt, the maximum current output is 2000W/120V = 16.7 Amps. You won't get 30 Amps. from a 2000 Watt generator. This device and the receptacle is rated by NEMA for 30 Amp. maximum but you need the generator to produce 30 Amps. also.
