The original power cord for the portable DVD player was broken. I went to a national electronics store to buy a replacement. That was $32.00 and when I got home the plug did not fit into my machine. I then started thinking that I had the car adapter which I could just buy a converter for. At the national electronic store they again wanted $30.00, after first telling me they didn't make such a thing and I found it on the shelf. I went to Amazon and found this one for 10.00. It works great! It saved me money plus I can use it with the 2nd car adapter if the first one gets broken. I really like this product.Customer Review: Wow! Actually works exactly as advertised!

Wow! This product actually works exactly as advertised! There's nothing more to it than plugging it into an outlet (outlet prongs fold down for travel/storage). I was a little concerned after reading horror stories about 'similar' products that didn't charge, only charge to 500mA (not 1000mA as this product does), or actually caused smoking/blackened outlets and/or repeated circuit breaker trips. None of those issues here whatsoever! Hurray! :-) Shipping was also very fast. Actually a no star rating and here's why-- I attempted to purchase it from an Amazon associate. Never received it after contacting the vendor several times I finally appealed to Amazon for a refund of all expenses-- which was granted.
BEST ADVICE-- IF IT LOOKS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE-- IT PROBABLY ISN'T. Hold on to your money or if it's a very low cost item buy directly from Amazon to enhance your chances of receiving the described item.
I was never given the opportunity to determine how well the PowerLine 0900-56 works.

This item is a neccesity for anyone who travels and doesn't want to lug around all the A/C adaptors for all thier battery powered electronics. Just about anything you have a power adaptor for your car for can be used on 115 VAC with this adaptor. This is a TRUE 1000 mA adaptor which makes it more useful than some of the less powerful adaptors available here and elsewhere. Remember the more(or higher) the mA (Mili-Amph) rating the better it is to run electronic devices. The "enhanced digital power" is also another good feature.Customer Review: Great Little Converter

The Power Line 12v power socket is an outstanding item. Plug it into any 120v wall socket and it gives you 12v power up to 1 amp. All your little car chargers, for cell phones and other low amp draw goodies are now good to use indoors. I don't need to take my ac chargers on trips, just this converter and my dc chargers. I also use it with my Roadmaster Rear Deck Scrolling Digital Message System. And, it only costs $9.28!
