Customer Review: BEWARE "JACK'S TOOL SHED": NO STOCK!

This is a story with several chapters.
When I first found this lamp here on Amazon, a Seller was hawking it for over $200. I Googled "JL Industrial Magnifier", and came up with a web site, JacksToolShed (dot) com, which was selling it for $97 with free shipping, with the denotation "Usually ships in: 2 days". I placed the order direct on that site on 12/17. On 12/18, I received an e-mail stating the lamp was backordered.
Three days later, I happened to look at the Amazon page again. To my surprise, there was Jack's Tool Shed, also now listing the lamp on Amazon for the same $97, but with a $12 shipping charge (the $200 Seller had lowered his price to $130, BTW; maybe he had originally bought his from Jack's, and was just marking it up?).
I have also been an Amazon Marketplace Seller for 5 years, and I know the rules. Amazon's Marketplace policy specifically states that all orders must be shipped witin 48 hours. So, if Jack's didn't have inventory to ship my direct order, why, I wondered, had they created their Amazon listing AFTER my order was placed? I e-mailed Jack's and posed this exact question. Their response:
"I am not sure why Amazon is stating that we have it in stock, because this item is back ordered. Sometimes Amazon doesn't always see our inventory correctly. This is an issue that we are working on with them. We are out of stock and don't expect this item to be back in stock until the middle of January."
Now, this answer is complete ka-ka. First of all, for those of you who don't have an Amazon Seller's account, Amazon has nothing to do with a Seller's inventory on their system; that is entirely controlled by the Seller. Amazon simply provides the Seller the account, and it is the Seller's responsibility to list items, price them, and control the inventory of those listings. And, Jack's direct site still reads "Usually ships in: 2 days", so they obviously have a real problem with efficiency at their end.
I e-mailed them back regarding this, and of course, received no response.
In summation: If you order this lamp from Jack's thru Amazon, it may not be shipped in the 48 hour window required by Amazon. If this happens to you, be sure to complain to Amazon Customer Service. Apparently, I'm going to be waiting a long time to get mine.
Also, in the future, be advised: If this lamp is listed here on Amazon by another Seller for a high price, it's available elsewhere for less than $100... ALWAYS Google before you buy!
