First of all we are only paying $12.99 for this item so lets not expect miracles! If you listen to some of the other reviews you might not purchase this item. As for me I purchased two while we are remodeling closets and they are terrific for my purposes. I did not find them flimsy but would not be a rough neck with them either! Yes there is velco but only on one shoe divider on each side so as to enable you to insert the fiberboard pieces into the bottom to give it it stability. I would say if you wear bigger than a size 8-9 you may not fit both shoes in one slot depending on the style shoe and might have to put one shoe in each individual slot, so what? I also have several pairs of shoe boots and to fit them I simply cut out a piece of the fabric between two of the dividers and one pair of the boots fit into the newly created double space perfectly (size 8 wide).
For me they are stored on top of a temporary vinyl wardrobe we are using during remodel and I take put them up and take them down without any problem.
I would recommend them to another buyer but as I said be realistic as these are not meant to be handled roughly. They will protect your shoes from dust and keep them organized and that is what I was in search of!
