This product is crystal clear and forever stays soft. It is different than other tacks; think of slowly oozing jello. If you use too much, it oozes out from under the item and you can see it, so you just need a very small amount.
I use this to hold glass animals to glass shelves. When you want to move or remove something, you twist gently. For delicate items, I use a thin knife blade to slide under the item.
Because this is a very soft gel, it will also collect dust over time. My items are behind doors, so dust is not a problem.
I particularly like Quakehold Gel because it is crystal clear and does not detract from the items being displayed.
