Tools and Hardware Reviews of Quakehold! 33111 Museum Gel, ClearCustomer Review: Museum Gel REALLY WORKS Summary: 5 Stars
We recently bought a Motor-Home and are in the process of selling our log home and traveling full time. I have some very special breakable items that I wanted to take with us but was afraid they would break with all the movement of our motor-home. I had pretty much convinced myself that I would not be able to take the family heirlooms that were so special to me. I saw an ad for Museum Gel, and decided to try it. I was shocked, it really worked as the label stated!!!! We can ride and things do not move! I have been able to put a lot of things like crystal into my RV and with just a few little balls of the Museum Gel on the bottom of the item, they stay. They can be removed and the gel reused. This product is perfect for RV'ers and I am really shocked the company hasn't figured that out. They should advertise in every RV magazine! It is great!!!
Customer Review: Excellent for use in motor coach Summary: 5 Stars
Museum Gel is great for making things like a silk flower arrangement in a vase stay on the counter of our motor coach. I also use it on the bottom of the toaster and a wine bottle basket. I no longer have to worry about things falling off the countertops as we travel around the USA. I do not have to pack all these items away in a drawer or cupboard each time we set off on our next journey. It is very adhesive and takes a very small amount of gel to keep things in place. I also use Museum Gel on the bottom of some of my pieces of Belleek in my curio cabinet. I no longer have to listen to the pieces rattle as a person walks by.
Customer Review: Works great! Summary: 5 Stars
All you need is a pinch. Works well with glass shelves. Clear and invisible so you wont see it even if you look from the bottom. For what its intended purpose, it is 5 stars. Other than that, it is limited in uses.
You cannot use it to stick posters or practically anything on the wall as it drips. It is not as sticky as other products like "Quakehold", poster putties, etc. It will also not work on wooden surfaces. Anything that has pores and grains will not work.
Customer Review: Useful for some things, not quite what I was expecting. Summary: 3 Stars
I was expecting this to be more solid, like putty. I think they make another product called museum putty which is probably what I should have gotten. This is a clear gel that is really a very slow moving liquid. You pinch out a little lump and put it on a surface, and over time it flattens itself out into a disc. It is good for sticking flat-bottomed items to completely horizontal surfaces, and it does seem to come off of surfaces cleanly. The product info does imply it might stain unfinished wood.
