Emergency kits are always a good idea. This is, I think, a good start. I have already added a little swiss army knife. I also plan to add some duct tape. I don't know why, yet, but I think that a roll may be helpful. I think that the main purpose of a kit like this is to get us started.
Anyway, one of the main reasons that I bought the kit, and that I liked it after I got it is that it is not too heavy. I will be adding stuff, lightweight, to the kit that will be packed at the bottom. Even for me, I can carry it easily and comfortably with the weight as purchased. I will add to the pack carefully, putting lighter things at the bottom of the pack so I can easily carry it. I will, hopefully never need it.
However, it will be there if I do. This pack will stay in my car...so it will be available to me no matter where I am when an emergency happens.

This is great for an emergency, the pack has the vital things like water food bars. enough for three days
I think this pack is a great starting point. I think it would be good to create your own grab and go. I put things in there that are not included in this pack. plus I bought my own back pack which is far larger.
This pack is small. Some of the items in my larger pack quality compass paracord leatherman 300 multi tool waterproof matches. magnifying glass. water treatment tablets extra emergency blankets flint starter. A small hammer
Extra bandages, I am not finished with this yet, but you get the idea things you may not be able to do without
in any emergency situation. I do recomend the quake kit!!!But also make your own you can never be over prepared.

I order "Quakehold! 70280 Grab-n-Go Emergency Kit" for $45 but then also ordered "Deluxe 2-Person by SurvivalKitsOnline Perfect Survival Kit for Emergency Disaster Preparedness" for $99 and you get so much more with that puppy. The Quakehold pack is 1/4 the size and full. The SurvivalKitsOnline pack is larger with way more pockets and has room for other items to be added. I stuffed the Quake items into the SurvivalKitsOnline pack. Also added a knife sharpenter and military compass, 5-in-1 shovel, bowie knife, 150 feet of rope and cord, all-weather gloves, plus more to be added. It still has room. Sure the pack tops around 40+ #'s but you have everything in it. Prepare your bug-out kit bB4 you need it people!!

I live in Santa Monica and with all the little shakers that we've been experiencing, I realized that I can't keep delaying my purchasing of an emergency kit. I looked at a bunch of different ones available on Amazon and elsewhere, and this one seemed to be the best combination of value and quality. Because I had already bought a survival radio, my options were limited...
The strangest aspect about these things are their limited shelf life. Part of you wants to use it because you spent money on it, then the rational part of your brain reminds you that you never want to be in such a dire situation!
So here is to being prepared...

* Good buy. It is heavier than I expected, but it is very compact.
* The food bars look large and they do expire in 5 years as advertised. (just don't open them)
* There are pockets on the outside of the backpack to add more supplies.
* The backpack is smaller than a 'school' backpack. There is room to add a 'few' smaller items inside, such as documents, sanitary items, a tiny radio ect.
* The price balances out because of the free shipping.
* I love that the supplies are neatly organized.
* I hope I never have to use it, but its better to be prepared as many have been advising.
