Works ok for some items, but not for others. You have to be careful because if the product does not hold up (i.e. holds up for a while but eventually falls down) you can damage whatever it is you're hanging.
Thankfully, I hung my stuff up on a carpeted area so my frame was not damaged when it fell overnight while I was sleeping.
Can't really recommend since it does not perform consistently. Might as well put a nail in the wall and dry plaster over it if you want to be sure. Otherwise, you may find wall hangings permanently damaged.

I'm using this putty to hold down the wooden tracks of my kids' Thomas train set, and it's worked wonderfully! I was so tired of the tracks getting knocked over or bumped out of place, the kids would come crying for me to fix it every few minutes. At the suggestion of a friend, I tried this putty and it's the perfect solution. We putty the tracks and pieces down, the kids can't move them, but an adult can pull the tracks up if needed (so much better than glue, we can change the configuration of the tracks as often as we want this way!).Customer Review: Compares Well to Sticky Tack

Quake Hold is very similar to Sticky Tack, the blue or yellow stuff widely sold at discount stores and supermarkets for hanging posters and such. If your application isn't very demanding, you should probably try Sticky Tack first, as it's very cheap.
Quake Hold is noticeably denser than Sticky Tack. It takes a bit more muscle to work it into the desired shape, but in return, it gives you stronger holding power. The color is also far better for blending into the surroundings. For my money, I like it better.

I realize most folks, or a lot, buy this to hold more substantial items on shelves but, I find that it works really well with posters and paper products on walls. I just got this today and have used it to hang a poster and some other decorations in my camping van. I will be taking this along with me as well as one never knows what kinds of uses it might provide on the camping trail, so to speak. Great price and it doesn't take a whole bunch to make it work.Customer Review: Holding..

I read the reviews before I purchased this, and was afraid that I'd be one of the customers who seemed to have trouble using it by happenstance.
It especially worried me after I put one small patch on and it did not hold. But, I followed the directions and put several other strips of a good thickness on, twisted and pushed gently, and it held perfectly. I tested removing and reattaching, with no problem at all. This is a great product.
