I recalibrated it as soon as I received it using the salt-water method (just Google hygrometer calibration) but the unit was only off by 1-2%, not much at all. Been almost a year so far and still works!
It works as it should, and I am quite satisfied. The magnet and accompanying double-sided tape allows this to be put anywhere in the house, which is great.

I needed a cheap reliable hygrometer to monitor the humidity of my acoustic guitar inside the case, and this works perfectly. I checked the calibration using the salt and water method and it was dead on. I have rechecked it a few times since and the calibration is right on the money after a few months. This is a good buy if you need an inexpensive analog hygrometer.Customer Review: Amazing

I bought two of these, one for my bedroom and the other for the living room. Since I live in Wisconsin, winters are very dry and make my skin burn. So I bought these to monitor the humidity in my house.
Pros:
1. They look steam punk
2. They work great
3. They were cheap
4. Magnet back

So this hygro is awesome for the price, calibrated once use the damp towel method and it's worked great ever since. extremely accurate.
However, on the other hand, the vendor I purchased it from was located just a simple 6hour drive from my town, and yet the item took something like 17 days to arrive which was a bit offputting to say the very lest.

I bought three or four of these a while back not for my cigars but to simply keep an eye on humidity around my house (basement, garage, garage loft, etc.) and I'm pleased with how they work. I calibrated them all before placing them with salt and out of the box they were all within 3-4% and all are still functioning well. For the price it's hard to beat them.
