Tools and Hardware Reviews of Racor PBS-2R Two-Bike Floor Bike Stand

Customer Review: Too small for normal sized bike, cheap, expensive to return
Summary: 1 Stars

Don't bother. It's too small for ordinary bicycles, it's poor quality, and from an unfriendly seller.

I have two normal, adult hybrid bicycles I needed storage for. This rack is too small, period. The wheels do not fit into the stand. The box says "Ideal for Kids' Bikes" by which it must mean "Only Suitable for Miniature Bikes!"

It also ships in the original packaging, with all the hardware just floating around in there. Good luck getting all the screws you need. I'm returning it - minus shipping, mandatory insurance, and a 25% restocking fee. Yep, that's the seller's policy.

You're much better off finding something at a local sporting goods store, and making sure it fits. This stand is just an expensive, cheap inconvenience.

Customer Review: Solid bike stand for 2 bicycles
Summary: 4 Stars

When initially received, there was a hole drilled incorrectly. In the box is a letter from Racor asking to contact them if there are problems before returning the item. Racor sent me a new stand quickly free of charge because a whole new stand wold arrive faster than a single part. The stand is not heavy, but weighs enough that it keeps two bikes sturdy. It holds the front and rear tires well. I think it is a bit too narrow to put both bikes in handlebar first as the inside grips hit, twisting the wheel a bit. One of the bikes has fairly large disk brakes and they come very close to rubbing on the bar support as does the rear sprockets when parked rear tire first, but they don't seem to get damaged.

All in all it is a great stand for the money.

Customer Review: Decent product
Summary: 3 Stars

So I have a road bike and a mountain bike in the stand the road bike is a 58cm and the mountain bike I typically use as a commuter is a 21". The stand holds the bikes vertically like I desired it is more in the way the wheel fits inside the metal hooop. The roadie fits snugly against the tire I put the road bike nose in because the stand contacts the rear derailure. Both bikes do not fit facing the same direction so I put the mountain bike with the rear in. The mountain bike tires are 2.25" and that is about the maximum I belive this stand will accomodate.

Don't expect top not fit and finish for the final assembled product because you're not paying for that.

In the user photos my rack is the white and yellow specialized.

Customer Review: Good Value - Not a Cheap Import
Summary: 4 Stars

I wasn't expecting much, since I saw more than one critical review. The box top suggests it is ideal for kids' bicycles, and I agree. I assembled this two-bike unit for my sons' new bikes, and they fit perfectly. My larger-wheeled path bike probably won't fit well into the holders. That's what keeps it from five stars for me. I was even impressed by the use of Trex screw heads, although they should have included a wrench for those without a Trex wrench. That was a surprise. My wife couldn't wait to get this in place with the boys' bikes off the garage floor, where they were leaning on whatever was standing. Makes things much neater and safer. The price is a few cents lower than when I bought it. I would definitely buy this again.

Customer Review: Outstanding product
Summary: 5 Stars

I am very pleased with the Racor PBS-2R Two-Bike floor stand. My two bikes fit securely in the stand. I have a Nashiki Competition Street Bike and a Trek Navigation Hybrid bike (26 x 1.95 inch tires). The mountain bike actually fits better because it is very snug and stands completely upright, but the street bike with the thinner tires sits upright with a little play. It took me half an hour to put it together and it is best to follow the instructions about keeping the bolts loose until it is completely finished and then tightening all of them so that when you're finished, it is flat and the bottom bars are parallel. I like having my bikes upright because they take up less space in the room (compared to putting them on their stands).
