Customer Review: Don't buy this!

I looked at one negative view but I ignored it since other reviews were positive. I purchased two sets of brackets. I should have listened to the negative review. These are medium quality, light weight brackets. They are NOT made of steel. The screws that come in the package are definitely no good for going into wood. I predrilled the redwood with 1/4 inch holes. When I power drove the screws, the head snapped off. When I drove the screws by hand, the heads stripped. The screws provided appear to be made of aluminum and have a hollow center. Very low strength.

I would not buy these again. I should have made my own brackets out of 1/2 galvanized water pipe. They are cheaper, much stronger and resist rust.

Leveling lines on plate allow for easy leveling and alignment with corresponding hooks. Extended-length plate design distributes weight better for superior holding power. Solid metal construction, with no weld points, adds strength and reliability. Unique cutting wings on tip self-drill into drywall or wood. Patented bi-level thread diameter holds tight in drywall or wood. Smooth fastener head provides finished look. Ladder hook is made of rubber-coated zinc alloy. Load capacity: Up to 40 lb. per pair in drywall, up to 70 lb. per pair in wood stud, and up to 60 lb. if both. Includes: 2 hooks and 4 screws per card.
