Tools and Hardware Reviews of Range Kleen WKT4162 66-Battery Organizer with Removable TesterCustomer Review: It's Nice to Have an Organizer Summary: 3 Stars
It's really nice to have one place to put all the batteries. With three kids, we have a bunch of stuff that needs batteries, so we're always getting more. In the past, we've forgotten what we already had, and bought multiple packs of the same size. Having one central location helps with that. I really like having a battery tester built in, so I can check the batteries coming out of a toy--sometimes only one is bad. It also means that I can check batteries before putting them in something, in case they've been sitting around too long and have lost their charge.
The one drawback to this storage rack is that there are too many slots for 9-volt and C batteries, and not enough for AA and AAA. Someone else with a different mix of stuff might disagree.
Customer Review: Pretty good Summary: 4 Stars
Bought this for Christmas 2007. Definitely a keeper for storing batteries. Hung it on a wall behind a bedroom door. No problems at all with batteries falling out. While some batteries may fit loosely, it is good becuase my rechargables are a tad fatter and do fit.
The battery gauge is really not all that good. Different size batteries really need a switch setting to allow for a different load resistor to be used for testing. And the 9 volt battery testing doesn't work on my unit. The battery storage capability deserves a 5 star rating, dropped to a 4 due to the battery tester. It isn't the prettist unit I've seen, but absolutely no complaints on looks due to storage capacity and price.
A definite keeper.
Customer Review: Great one-size fits all Summary: 5 Stars
We have batteries. Lots and lots of batteries. A couple dozen rechargeables plus we buy AAs by the 48-pack when we need 'em. Typically this has all been kept in a tupperware container, which often leaves me dumping the whole thing out just to get at last remaining AAAs buried beneath the D-cells.
I finally had enough and bought this organizer, it is only for my alkalines and is relegated to the shed 'cause we have no wall space in the pantry. It fits nicely in a drawer tho the battery tester is removed by sliding toward the top so if you do put it in a drawer keep this in mind (of course you don't have to use the holder if it is in a drawer anyway).
Not much else I can say, does what it is meant to do.
Customer Review: Good quality, good price Summary: 5 Stars
Sturdy and works well. I use mine to hold my rechargeable batteries (Sanyo Eneloop, which are amazing rechargeable batteries by the way). Before I got this, my batteries were lying around on countertops and in the desk drawer. This makes it convenient to keep all my batteries in one location. The tester works well, even if it seems like its made from slightly inferior plastic. The 'C' and 'D' size battery compartments work well for holding the Eneloop adapters, which are the same size as the batteries they emulate. I haven't tried to hang it on the wall yet, but I think it should be able to withstand the weight of all the batteries.
Customer Review: Great battery organizer Summary: 4 Stars
This is a great battery organizer. I am using it as a storage tray, although it does come with hardware for mounting on a wall.
The product description says that the organizer is 12 x 12 x 1.45. But by looking at the picture, you can tell that it's longer than it is wide. The actual dimensions of the product that I received are 11.5L x 6W x 1.5H, and the packaging still states it holds 66 batteries.
I'm happy with the smaller than advertised size, as it fits side ways in a standard wall cabinet. (If it really was 12 x 12, it wouldn't fit in a standard cabinet.)
I haven't tried the tester, so I can't comment on that.
I'm quite happy with the product.
