Customer Review: Even better than I anticipated!

After our umpteenth plastic hose reel failed on us, I decided to look around on Amazon for alternatives to the cheap garbage they sell at the home improvement stores. I can't count how many times I've had to replace hose reels and/or the inlet hose that attaches to them. I saw the reviews and watched the videos for the Rapid Reel, and was sold. Yes, they cost more than the high end units at the big box stores, but I'm pretty sure this is the last hose reel I'll ever need to buy.
Everything about this product screams 'quality'. The package was double-boxed for protection. The parts were packaged in a very secure fashion, and the effort spent on the package design was evident. Of course, the Rapid Reel components need to be well secured - there is no part of this product that is made of cheap plastic. Everything is solid alloy cast or machined components (translation: heavy).
Inside the box are a number of smaller packages formed of injection molded plastic. Every single piece of this product had it's own special compartment to protect and secure it. Even the fasteners were secured in their own package. The smaller screws and nuts were already pre-attached to their destination. They just needed to be temporarily removed to mate an attaching piece. And speaking of fasteners, every fastener on this product is a high quality fastener. No cheap phillips-head screws that can be stripped when you try to tighten them. No, every fastener had a hex-head top, and a large tool with a handle was supplied to tighten them.
My jaw literally dropped when I opened this package up. I just said one word... "Wow...". I knew it would be better quality than anything I had purchased before, but this was way beyond my expectations. I think my wife got tired of hearing me say "I can't believe how well-made this system is!".
The instructions were top-notch, and included high-resolution artwork and exploded diagrams where needed. I never had to question any part of the assembly process.
The inlet hose is industrial-grade. I will never have to worry about it failing or leaking. All other connections are solid - the inlet hose adapter is solid brass and machined aluminum. Let me tell you, the only weak link in this entire hose reel will be the hose that you use it with.
The operation of the reel could not be simpler. You can easily roll up 100ft of 5/8" hose. A simple flick of a lever by the hose inlet allows you place some drag on the unit when you are pulling out the hose, but remove the drag when reeling in the hose so the reel turns freely.
This is one of the best purchases I've made on Amazon. I am glad to support Rapid Reel, and will recommend this product to anyone. There is only one thing about this product that took the smile off my face. The parts are manufactured in China. This is not a negative as far as quality goes - like I said, everything about this product is top-notch. I just wish that a product with such high standards and American ingenuity behind it was manufactured by good old Midwestern Americans.
