Okay, I read everyone else's review and decided to take a chance on this item during a Friday sale. Bad move.
First of all, this light is small. If you're getting the impression that this light is perhaps the size of a small pillow; you'd be wrong. It's about 3-4" in diameter.
I will agree that for it's tiny size, it does give off a nice flashlight beam of light for reading.
The item is very poorly made. The top light attachment does not fit into the pillow. It advises you to push the little snap to fit the two pieces together. Well, after spending a half hour (yes, a half hour) trying to get the plastic top to stay put into the pillow/battery case, I finally gave up.
The only way I could get it to stay inserted was to get a small clump of sticky clay and insert it between the top lid and bottom pillow.
The bottom pillow is a bean bag but there must have been a shortage of beans the day my light was being manufactured because I can bearly get it to sit properly wherever I place it.
So, I give this item 1 star. Wait until it shows up at your local dollar store before investing any money in it.

-- well, maybe not, but you'll love this book light at least a little.
I bought one quite a while back (a year or so) and use it constantly. I'm still on the original set of batteries despite nightly use, and the LED lamps are still strong and bright. Best of all, this light keeps the book lighted without all the nonsense of balancing a clip onto pages, which limits one to hardcover books, instead of paperbacks or (eek) magazines.
I get into bed, find a comfy position, and set the pillow light onto my shoulder. The little "high beam" points only at my book, and doesn't disturb the husband in the least. His complaining about my nighttime habit of reading before I sleep has stopped, and I can read as I will. Life is a little simpler and happier because of this silly-looking light.

This product works as advertised. I bought 3 of them, one for my wife and 2 boys. While the LED light is bright for the person reading it is narrowly focused and does not flood the room. I can easily fall asleep facing towards or away from the light. I almost always fall asleep within 5 minutes of hitting the pillow though :-) The beanbag bottom makes positioning the light pretty easy and comfortable. The only gripe I have with this product is the battery compartment. It must be removed from the light before you can change the batteries and it can be a little awkward for people with thicker fingers. There is not much space on either side of the battery compartment to grip it. That's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Not a deal breaker for us though.Customer Review: Great light - finally!

I've gone through several book lights over the years, and it took me this long to realize that attaching a light to the book doesn't work well.
This light sits on the bed or pillow next to you, is easily adjusted and aimed, and provides a good level of light.
Initially, I agreed with some of the reviewers that the light was too bright, but then I let my eyes adjust, and looked around the room; the rest of the room remained very dark, but my book was nicely lit. It is brighter than other LED book lights, and that is one of the reasons it is better.

I've been through a dozen book lights and this one is, by far, the best one I have ever used! Even better than a bedside table lamp! It's easy to position, the light is nice and bright (although it may take a minute or two to get used to it). The light is also very focused so it shouldn't disturb any other people who might be sleeping beside you. It also seems to be quite sturdy and would be able to withstand falling behind the bed or being dropped on the floor, etc. If you need a reading light for your bed, this should be the one you buy!
