I normally only review books, but I wanted to post something about this reading light.
I read a lot at night, after my husband has gone to sleep, and have tried *all* kinds of reading lights. Usually they are not bright enough, or they are unwieldy. This one isn't perfect, but it's better than any other I have tried. It's weighted so that you can place it almost anywhere (I place it just above my chest on the blanket) , and shine the light anywhere you want on the page.
Definitely recommended.

I can't tell you how many book lights I've gone through until I bought this one. They were all either too flimsy, too heavy, not bright enough, etc., etc. This one sits on the pillow and shines on your book. The base is weighted like a bean bag, and shifts to accomodate the surface you've set it on. The light itself can be rotated to hit the book just right. It takes 4 AA batteries, a relief from those book lights that require specialty batteries. I think I've had this one a year now and haven't tired of it yet.Customer Review: Excellent--for the price

Factoring in the price, I could give 5 stars. --But it does have 2 problems which cause me to use a different book light half the time:
(1) There is a bright lavender "hot spot" in the center of the beam, requiring constant adjustment to keep off the part of the page I am trying to read. The rest of the beam gives a balaced spectrum.
(2) It has a lot of "overspray", lighting up the entire room to an impressive degree for 2 LED's. I can use it only when my wife is deep asleep.

I have tried at least a dozen different reading lights and this is by far the best.
The light beam is broad enough to cover the entire page of the book I am reading. So, I am not constantly having to adjust the light.
When I turn or roll over it is simple to reposition the light and it stays put. No more wiggly light any time I move or adjust a page.
Try it you will enjoy night time reading again. And so will your spouse.

finally! a book light worth buying! this is the best one i have had so far. i'd rather the light behind me than clipped to my book and this works just great. i used to use a tap light but the batteries never lasted long enough and the light was not bright enough. but with this pillow light, it's perfect. tons of light and the batteries seem to last. (though it does take quit alot of batteries) i even bought one for my son to use when he goes to bed and he loves it!
