Very bright focused beam allows for easy and comfortable reading without disturbing roommates. Head swivels and bean-bag bottom allows for easy placement on nightstands, pillows, headboards, etc.
Does not have any sort of automatic shut off function, so if you fall asleep with it on all night a few times expect to replace the AAs frequently. Had it since March and no need to replace yet.
You'll enjoy it.

Finally! A book/utility light you don't need three hands to use! The pillow at the bottom of this handy little gadget means you can plop this dandy almost anywhere. Slanted surface? No problem! And the little bubble that holds the light swivels up and down, in case you need even more flexibility! I hate to see Amazon is out of stock on these -- I'd buy two or three more! I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned the weird color light the LEDs put out. The light is not white, but an eerie sort of lavender color. And the light is so intense in the center that I have to keep whatever I'm reading in the edges to avoid hurting my eyes. It would make a better flashlight than reading light. I wish I'd resisted the tiny Gold Box discount. This is an impulse buy I regret.Customer Review: Great Book Light

I read in bed all the time with this light and I also read to my daughter before bed with it. I am able to keep the room fairly dark, keeping the "bedtime" ambiance going with her, but she can see all the pictures and enjoy the book as we read. Well worth it at the price Amazon is charging. This is the best reading light. I've tried quite a few. I didn't care for the type that attached to the books because they seem to weigh the book down. I was using a flashlight on my shoulder. This works so well because it is comfortable and sturdy. I can even put it on my nightstand and use it as a night light if I need to get up.
