This is the best reading light. I've tried quite a few. I didn't care for the type that attached to the books because they seem to weigh the book down. I was using a flashlight on my shoulder. This works so well because it is comfortable and sturdy. I can even put it on my nightstand and use it as a night light if I need to get up.Customer Review: good night light reading

While I agree that this light does have a spotlight effect if you are reading a large book like I do, the effect would probably be barely noticable on a novel-sized page. It is very bright and makes my books really easy to read while keeping my wife in total darkness -- perfect! I will definitely be buying a couple more of these.Customer Review: Light up my Bed

This product has been wonderful for both my wife and myself. We can read and the other can sleep
