Tools and Hardware Reviews of Raytek MT4 Mini Temp Non-Contact Thermometer Gun with Laser SightingCustomer Review: Useful and fun Summary: 4 Stars
This is a very entertaining and useful gadget. I found myself taking temperatures of many different things in the house -- inside the refrigerator and freezer, water boiling in a pot, different places on the television, A/V receiver, and computer. I bought the Raytek to track my tire and brake temperatures after hard driving at different race tracks. It gives me very useful information. Well worth the cost.
Customer Review: Do not order -ridiculous waiting time Summary: 1 Stars
I ordered this prodect over two months ago and when I ordered it, the ad said it was in stock and would be shipped within three days. I have now received four messages saying it has been delayed but no reason for the delay. This is the worst service I have ever received from a company!!!
I cancelled this and ordered it from Monstronix and received it within two days and a lower price and free shipping.
Customer Review: No more ladders nor guessing Summary: 5 Stars
Saw a similar device used by R/C hobbyists to check engine temp. Used mine at home to check how effective the new ceiling insulation is - and it sure beats bringing out the tall ladder and a digital thermometer! I like it's ability to scan an area so you could detect hot spots. Plus, the laser is a cool toy. Maybe too cool, since my 3 year old wanted to grab my "gun" away from me. Great value.
Customer Review: Infrared remote sensor Summary: 5 Stars
An easy to use sensor. I can't believe how inexpensive these devices have
become. It is accurate and useful to determine temperatures to see where you are wasting or using energy. Something unexpected but extremely useful is determing the temperature of cooking oil in a frying pan. I know when to put in the meat or vegetables and now can control the heat and don't burn or smoke the oil.
Customer Review: fun as heck and accurate Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this primarily for fun but also for monitoring external hard disk and computer temperatures, and it has been great. I've tested it on a variety of surfaces, including glossy ones (apparently in the manual it says that it is not recommonded for those) and it has been very accurate. Reported an ice cube accurately as well as my skin temperature.
Very cool unit.
