Tools and Hardware Reviews of Reliable Steamboy T1 Steam Floor MopCustomer Review: Quick, Efficient and Easy Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this product a few months back at Kohl's and am thinking about purchasing for my mom for Christmas. I never had to read the instructions as it is fairly intuitive. It's basically like an iron...has a heating element that heats the water. It is environmentally clean, easy to use and you can use it anywhere...I have a big painted front porch and I just used it yesterday to steam clean the porch floor before putting up Christmas decorations. I don't have to worry about getting the pad dirty, because I can just throw it in the wash with bleach and my whites and it comes perfectly clean. For those who are having problems, the only thing I can say is you must be pressing the release button too much. I only press once, wait for the steam and go. It works like a charm on my wood floors, tile, etc. Better than yucky mops and wringing out constantly.
Customer Review: terrible company Summary: 1 Stars
ordered mop thru Allergy Be Gone. Despite promised delivery of a few weeks, product was never received. Did receive an email from Amazon advising me of late shipment with a suggestion to contact the seller directly. I did this and was promised a tracking number for the shipment shortly. The next day I received a second email from Amazon advising me that the order had been cancelled. When I contacted the seller directly to inquire why my order was cancelled rather than backordered, I was told that Amazon had cancelled the order. When I tried to repurchase the item I found that the price had now been increased from the $89 I had ordered it at to a new price of $149. And although the seller asserts thru Amazon that it was in stock, it was not. Worst internet buying experience I have ever had. Stay away from Allergy Be Gone.
Customer Review: Esiest way to clean an entire house of hardwood floors Summary: 4 Stars
I bought the Steamboy based on reviews by others here on Amazon. I have been nothing but pleased with the purchase. My entire 3500 square foot house is either hardwood floors or tile. I plug in the Steamboy (via extension cord), fill the water reservoir and go to work. The entire house can be done in less than 30 minutes (though it does take through 4-6 pads to do so). The pads aren't difficult to change, and I haven't really had any problems with them loosening and coming off while I clean. I like that I can just toss them in the washing machine and re-use them.
I give it 4 instead of 5 for two reasons: 1) the cord is ridiculously short (though that was remedied with and extension cord) 2) I wish the head was a bit larger.
All-in-all, one of my favorite purchases thus far.
Customer Review: Great product Summary: 5 Stars
Used my new steamboy on the white ceramic tile floor in two bathrooms and was very pleased with the result. It left the tile including the grout lines spotless. The pad picked up the dirt very well. There was no more residual dampness on the floor than when I use a swiffer wet jet.The pad is constructed of good quality microfiber with a slip lock cord to hold it in place. Other reviewers reported that they had difficulty with the pad slipping off. That was not my experience as the pad stayed firmly in place through use in 2 large bathrooms. The unit is light and very maneuverable. Pushing it over the floors required no more effort than the swiffer. Despite being light this is a sturdy and well constructed steam mop. All in all, my expectations were exceeded.
Customer Review: Finally: clean floors Summary: 5 Stars
I am very pleased with the Reliable Steam Mop: it leaves the floor immaculate, it gets up hardened messes that would have required scraping before, it gets in small, convoluted spaces, it is very light-weight, the water reservoir is big enough to do a lot of floor, the mop-head cover is very easy to use and to wash, it uses tap water or distilled water. Now my suggestions for improvement: first and foremost, there should be an on-off switch in the handle; and second, the cord could definitely use another ten feet. Also, not really a complaint, but good to know, it does leave quite a bit of water on the floor, so it takes a while to dry. I turn on the ceiling fans, and that helps a lot. I would recommend this product!
