Customer Review: Nice product, one major improvement required

I am aware of too many disaster stories of basement flooding so I got this alarm for installation in my storm water sump (crock).
Its a nice product which has yet to prove itself to me in a real life scenario. I tested it (by dipping it in water) before installation and it works as advertised. There are two options for the alarm, a high pitched sound or music (!!)
Since its the last line of defense before your basement floods a critical feature missing in it is highlighted below:
This alarm operates on a 9v battery and the operating instructions say to replace it after every 6 months. It would be useless to find out that the alarm didn't work due to a dead battery. I am sure few owners will be able to remember to regularly replace the battery.
A good last line of defense should ensure that reliability is part of the package. This reliability can easily be built into this alarm by offering an indication/alarm when the battery requires replacement.
Giving this feature is not difficult at all. Take the example of battery powered Smoke Alarms, they start chirping when their 9v battery requires replacement. The same circuitry can be used in this alarm also.
NOTE: In most of my reviews, you will find that I always mention things (which in my view) if added to the product would increase its utility and enhance its functionality, same has been the case for this alarm.
