Customer Review: Loud enough to hear from lower floor

Unit will sound alarm if liquid touches its sensing unit. Bought this to sould alarm if dishwasher leaked and to replace anothr different unit whiich had failed. Tested it and found that it is loud enough to hear from another room and possibly loud enough to hear on a different floor assuming typical minimal sound insulation. Has been installed for about 6 months under dishwasher and still working, however, the dishwasher has not leaked during that period. Has long sensor wire probe which is tucked inside unit and easily missed unless you look for it. Put second unit behind toilet on second floor as I never go there and my daughter uses it. No problems wih battery life.Customer Review: turn up the volume

Hard to hear the product in the basement when on the first floor with the TV at a moderate level - can't hear it at all from the second floor
I purchased 3 different products wanting to compare and find a good warning device and all are about the same - bottom line is its better than nothing but far from optimal

During a huge rain storm last month I wondered why I hadn't heard my sump pump kick on so I went to check and sure enough the water was an inch from flooding my basement. I lucked out but I wanted to make sure that never happens again.
I had my doubts because this thing is rather cheap but I gave it a try and it works great. The last rain storm I unplugged my sump pump and sure enough when the water touched the controller it went off. It's VERY loud. I can hear it anywhere in my two story house.

This item works exactly as described. It is so loud you could hear it all through out the house (albeit a ranch, with the alarm in the basement). I have a manual pump on the central air water drain, and this let's me know if I have forgotten to empty it before it makes a miniature lake in my basement.
I do wish there were a better way to know if the batteries are dying, although remembering to check it once or twice a year shouldn't be too hard...

Customer Review: Continually alarmed once sensor was put in sump crock

After I placed the sensor into the sump crock, I would walk away and then within 30 minutes or so it would issue an alarm. The crock did not seem to be all that damp, but the alarm would still trigger. It was way too sensitive. I tried it again in a few weeks to see if it would be any better. This time, it was silent for about an hour and then I got a call from my kids saying that there was an alarm going off in the basement. In the end, I couldn't use it.
