Another reviewer complained that Rudy is not brown, that reviewer is correct....Rudy is not brown, he is a great mossy green color as I imagine old stones would look. All the tips here in the reviews on how to put him up on his side (i.e., metal bookends inserted in bottom, paper-clip on wall w/leaves to cover, screw into wall...) are very helpful. Rudy also looks just great laying down. I'm using him in a somewhat formal / antique(ish) dark wood bathroom and he looks fantastic ..... his colors fit in perfectly but he is a great source of humor..... I have him on top of a small book table, near the loo, that has some pretty funny bathroom humor books in it... never fails to get a laugh &/or remark.
My only small complaint would be that it is a little difficult to get the tissues to come out (the nose...lol) without tearing but after a few then it works well. Also, my favorite tissue Puffs Plus w/aloe, does not make a box or tissue that works well in this box... too bad, they are the best tissues.
All in all I am happy with this purchase and would definitely buy it again. I will be getting a few for gifts.

I was actually just looking up tissue boxes, not tissue box covers when I came across this. The cover fits over a standard size tissue box and is held in place using an elastic strap in the back. It does look better when its standing up on its side, that way everyone can see the face on the box. However to do so you have to somehow fix it in place so that it doesn't fall - its top heavy and will topple over as soon as you try to take a tissue out. I took it to work and it sparked a lot of smiles and laughs. I fixed it in place actually using a bent paper clip. I hooked the paper clip through one of the side handles on the box then hooked the other side of the paper clip to a joint in my cubicle wall where two walls connect. To hide all of this I used fake leaves and now my box looks like its growing leaves out of its head too!
Head's up: If you do buy this, make sure that when you start using it to pull the tissues out at an angle. The way the nose is shaped, its better to pull the tissues down - with a new box of tissues, the first few always come out torn in half.

I ordered this full knowing from other reviewers (by thew way, thank you ladies and gentlemen) that this tissue-box novelty cover cannot be used in the upright position. It can stand but once you start pulling the next tissue it will topple over.
The solution I came up with was to attach a small pin on my bookshelves back panel and tie the top of the box to it with a nylon thread. It works and it is not too much hassle when it comes time to change the tissue box inside; however, it would had been so much easier to simply have an (attachable?) stabilization stand.
Also, make sure to remove all the sticky foam from inside the nose when using for the first time. It is there to hold the mock-tissue in place but it will mess-up your tissues if not completely removed.
Overall,a fun purchase. If the Easter Island Giants can have a runny nose, who am I to complain, right?

I adore this tissue box but am unable to use it because the tissues I buy don't fit -- this cover is built to completely hide only the shortest of tissue boxes (I buy Kleenex and Puffs brands, and both are too tall).
Still, I keep it on display (who wouldn't?) and plan to find a solution one day. Perhaps I'll get the right sized tissue box and just remove and refill it with my favorite brand when needed. I like it so much, it would be worth the effort.
(Someone else also mentioned that it tips forward if you stand it up -- it IS heavy in the face with a light black base and a simple elastic band to keep the tissue box attached. I've never been able to stand it up on its own -- it always tips forward -- but keeping it down doesn't take away from the effect.)

This tissue box is so much fun but it will tip over if you display it upright. It could be wall mounted if you're clever - just screw it into the wall through the inside and fasten the Moai to the container. Too bad it doesn't come with hardware just for that purpose.
BTW, I don't know why Amazon calls this a "tiki" when it is clearly an Easter Island "Moai". Another reviewer said the Moai don't lay down, well... they do. So even if you do display this on it's back you're still going to enjoy it.
Next they need to come up with a matching cup dispenser that looks like a Moai with a "topknot" where you pull the cup out of the top of it's head. I'd buy that. 5 Stars for uniqueness.
