Tools and Hardware Reviews of Rite Lite LPL623W 5 LED Puck Light 3 Pack - WhiteCustomer Review: Great, soft little lights Summary: 5 Stars
We bought these to allow for low light in the middle of the night when waking up with my daughter. The regular bedside lamp was so bright that it jarred her fully awake, whereas these comparatively dim lights allowed us to keep a low-key environment yet still have ample lighting to see by for feeding or diapering I like that they each have two settings (high and low) and all though they come with a sticky back to allow for adhesion in a closet or under a cabinet, we've actually preferred to leave them unstuck. They're light-weight and easy to pick up and carry around with us if we need to spotlight a certain area in the middle of the night. They've been really perfect for our needs, and I could see using them too for camping, hurricane supplies, a little kid's room, etc. I've even leaned it up against my chest for an impromptu book light. The LED provides for a soft blue light - nothing overwhelming, nor bright enough for full on illumination if that's what you're looking for. The batteries have lasted a reasonable amount of time inbetween changes, though it was a little tricky to realize the lights had dimmed over the course of 2 months when the first set of batteries went dead. I thought I was just loosing my eyesight until I realized the problem :-) FYI - he back snaps on very tightly, which is fine by me. Just be aware that you really need to push the backplate in until you hear the SNAP!
Customer Review: A complete waste of money! Summary: 1 Stars
I thought...just what I need to light some stairways at night. We put up the first one right away, brand new batteries, light nice & bright the first night, less the second, & by the end of the week no light at all. These lights were purchased because they tout they last "up to" 100,000 hours. Perhaps the operative description of "up to" is the disclaimer as well.
So I thought maybe the first one was just faulty. Put the second one up, with another set of new batteries & after 3 days, it's giving off very little light. They're only on at night & yet after 36 hours, no longer have the high setting working (again) & pretty dim on the second setting. I doubt they'll last the week.
Each light requires three triple A batteries (not included) so in addition to the initial cost of these lights, (not cheap), then adding in all the batteries, I would say this is a very poor investment for anyone.
Incidentally all the batteries used are brand new Duracell (not any off brand) and were pre-tested in a battery tester before installation.
Most disappointed in these lights!!
Customer Review: The best lights for a deployment Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this lights to use them on my (beat lab) room area in the tent at my deployed location. I have been deployed 4
Times and is always hard to find a good form of lighting to use when every one else is sleeping. Well I bought 2 packages of this lights to stick them on the tent looking down like regular lights. It's like clouds are opening up on a dark cloudy day and you see the sun rays shining down at you. And all you can do is watch with your mouth wide open as the rays make the clouds disappear and make this ugly dark cloudy day into a "let's go to the beach and have a few beers" day. Honestly this is the best idea I've had so far on this deployment. If you need some kind if lighting for a small area about 4'x6 this is the best option. I have 3 on the tent shining down n 1 on my wall locker shinnin sideways. Plus you can point them at any direction. This lights are a must for anyone deployed or needing lights within close quarters. Oh and I ordered this lights on feb. 3rd and received them on the 7th. The fastest package I have ever received while deployed. Wow. Thank you amazon, you made my deployment about 5x better.
Customer Review: Bluish light; not bright enough Summary: 2 Stars
I bought these lights to brighten up the closets that don't have lights installed. I found that they are not what I expected. Here are the pros and cons.
Pros:
Long-lasting battery compared with non-LED light bulbs.
Cons:
1. Bluish light: It is not natural. It is the problem of many LED lights. I cannot see the real color of the stuff.
2. Not bright enough: The photos on the product description on the Mamzon page are very misleading. It is simply not bright enough for me to see things clearly.
3. Awkward two-stage light switch: First push will turn the light on, second push, dims it, and the third one turns it off. I believe most people will just want to turn it off after they turn it on. That means you have to push twice to turn this thing off. This is just not very convenient.
4. The adhesive on the back is not strong enough to stay on the wall. I ended up using a nail to hold it in place.
My suggestion will be stay away from this. It has good idea, but just not well executed.
Customer Review: Great LED Puck Lights Summary: 4 Stars
This 3-pack puck lights are decent looking and produce much better light output than my previous pucks. It requires 3 "AAA" batteries for each puck. The dimmer is actually a 2-step dimming function. First press of the button will give you its brightest setting, the second press will dimmed out the output halfway, if you press it again the third time, it will turn off the lights.
There are 5 white LEDs that are evenly distributed around the puck. This LEDs are much better compared to the older types that produce a ghoulish bluish white color. It also has a frosted reflector that diffuses the light.
Made in China.
Pros:
+ Bright
+ Adjustable. It rotates and tilts at the same time.
+ 2-step dimming.
+ Comes with its own perfectly pre-cut Velcro which covers the entire surface at the back.
Cons:
- No auto-shutoff
- Batteries are not included.
Overall, great product.
