Tools and Hardware Reviews of Rite Lite LPL623W 5 LED Puck Light 3 Pack - White

Customer Review: Good for emergency or temp, not everyday.
Summary: 5 Stars

Amazon had these on sale for $8.00 for a 3-pack, which was a great deal. I bought a package to supplement some that we already had mounted in a couple locations in the house. We live in a rural area and power-outages are a routine thing, sometimes for over a day. These work great for that type of emergency lighting, or possibly the occasional lighting needed in a closet or crawl space where it wouldn't be practical to wire a permanent light.

Previous reviewers weren't happy when they tried to use them as under-cabinet lighting. I don't think they would be bright enough for that type of use, and although batteries will last nearly a full 24 hours, that would probably be less than a week of every-day use.

Price seems to fluctuate a lot, so check back and check around. I've also seen them at Costco (with batteries included) for a good price.

Customer Review: Great, Versatile Lights
Summary: 5 Stars

Warning, the triple A batteries are NOT included... and each light takes three.

I purchased this pack of lights on a lightning deal. I have a closet that needed better light desperately, as well as dark corners in my kitchen. These lights are wonderful! They throw off plenty of light... I love being able to direct the light in the direction I want! I stuck one under a kitchen counter and when I'm chopping and cutting... I turn it on and can see what I'm doing much better. All in all, I am very pleased and will be buying more of these for my Illinois home. Very versatile lights... plenty bright!

Rite Lite LPL623W 5 LED Puck Light 3 Pack - White I always use the purchase from Amazon.com option on the right hand side of your screen. :)

Customer Review: Excellent cordless lights!
Summary: 5 Stars

These are excellent lights for places where you can't readily install a powered light fixture, or for emergency preparations (in the car, with your home emergency supplies, for power outages, etc.). Each light is powered with three AAA batteries, and have five LED bulbs inside. The front cover is such that the light is evenly distributed, not as five individual light dots. The battery life on LED lights are far superior to the halogen light bulbs. I'm using 1.2V NiMH rechargeable AAA batteries and they work just fine (one word of advice: If you do decide to use rechargeable batteries, go for the Sanyo Eneloop batteries that hold their charges for a long, long time--the Eneloops are supposed to hold 85% of their charges after 1 year in storage; most NiMH batteries lose their charge in weeks).

Highly recommended!

Customer Review: Great for under cabinet lighting!
Summary: 4 Stars

I ordered these Monday and got them Thursday....fast! I just put them up today and they are ideal for what I needed. I used them as under cabinet lighting in my kitchen so I can have a little extra light when I need it. The fact that I can turn and pivot these lights is wonderful! I'm crossing my fingers that the velcro will hold. I'll have to get shorter screws if I decide to permanently install them. I ordered two packs, so I have six lights and when I turn all the other lights off, they emit a bit of a blue hue. Also they are not bright enough to light up the whole room, but are definitey great for accent lighting or to use as I am. I plan on putting a ledge above my cabinets and will use these lights to accent the decor I put on my ledge. Will look great!

Customer Review: What a pain!
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought these lights to put under my cabinets in my kitchen. I first tried using the stick up method. But that didn't work the next morning the light had fallen down. So I got out my drill and drilled a pilot hole to screw them in. The problem w/ that was the screws are made of cheap aluminum and the head stripped before I got it tight. What a hassel! I then had to use pliers to get the screw out. As of this writing they are still not up. I'm either gonna go get some better screws or I might try my staple gun to secure the velcro. The screw would work if screwed into softer materials, but not hard wood. The lights themselves put off a lot of light and esp. nice w/ the 2 two light levels. But save yourself a lot of time...go get some good screws before you start!
