I got these as a part of a large order out of curiosity. I am glad I got 8 not 4 though. Overall a good gadget, but:

The Good:
Do a great job of immobilizing moderately heavy to heavy pieces for sanding or routing, and even work for sawing (using a table with a gap or two tables and a jig saw).
Are large enough so that they are hard to loose.
Not shiny enough to attract crows or magpies.

The Bad:
Need a minimum mass to work. 3/4" Baltic birch 24x30" works fine with 4; but 1/2" takes all 8. Not surprising when you think about it, but counter intuitive.

The Ugly:
Felis catus (feral house cat) doesn't have the strength or interest to do anything with them.
Puma concolor (mountain lion), can bat one easily 100m. Luckily they went down the road not into the brush and luckily he lost interest.
Canis lupus is totally disinterested and I have failed to teach them to fetch. (They did learn to chase Felis Catus on their own and do a good job of running off Canis latrans before they get in the garbage).

But the failure as a critter toy aside they are a very good gadget. I haven't tried them for drilling yet but don't see why (aside from the minimum weight limitation) they will not work. Am going to try them with my plunge saw next.
