Tools and Hardware Reviews of Rockwell RK9000 JawhorseCustomer Review: The REAL deal!! Summary: 4 Stars
I saw the infomercial on TV and thought this would be real handy to hold my Miter saw or small table saw. Boy, was I right. This thing is very heavy duty-maybe a little too heavy, or maybe I am just getting old. It is nice to get a tool that you know is not going to break. It is spendy and worth it. I also bought the miter station, but anyone worth his salt could build ont of these for a fraction of the price. The Jaw-Horse is the real deal and will do everything the infomercial said it will. I would have given it 5 stars, except the accessories seemed a little high priced. Buy the Jaw-Horse and figure out your own accessories, and you WILL be happy!!
Customer Review: Simply the best!! Summary: 5 Stars
The Jawhorse is very stable, and quite heavy-duty. I've been using it to clamp and hold a number of car parts as I complete a list of car projects. I've found the Jawhorse's weight, sturdy design, and easy-to-use controls to be a great combination. I realize that the unit has a few shortcomings, as noted in other reviews, but as I tried to purchase a stable platform for home projects, I was unable to find anything that compares to the Jawhorse. Trips to OSH, Lowes, and Home Depot did not show anything that was better, and while this unit has a few plastic parts, which may prove to be a problem in the future, for now, it's simply the best!
Customer Review: A worthwhile product Summary: 5 Stars
I have a table which I work on. It was built (well built) about 50 years ago. I wanted to buy a grinding wheel and a vise, because I occasionally use these when doing my honey-dos. Mounting these on the table would have caused a loss of surface area and destroyed the surface. After seeing the ad for the Jawhorse on TV, I thought this would solve the dilemma, because I could put the grinder, wire brush, etc in the Jawhorse and just pick it up when I was finished. I recently had back surgery and have been slightly impaired, but because of the ease of using the product, I used it about 8 times in the first week, while sitting down.
Customer Review: Jawhorse Summary: 4 Stars
Works as advertised with the exception of 5 1/2 board after locking it in, made my cut it would not release. I had to pry the wood free of the jaw! I am not a professional carpenter but I installed gutters, made plywood hurricane shutters, made a bookcase, replaced the vanity & sink in the master bath, and I am considering a kitchen renovation. Need to return the Jawhorse, it is working me to death...Ha!Ha! Just kidding! I would like to mention that I made a pad for the single leg to eliminate sinking in sand. I would like to suggest a support for the 4'X 8' sheet of plywood other than saw horses.
My Third Hand. Thank You!
Customer Review: How did I live without a Jawhorse? Summary: 5 Stars
I coveted this tool for a long time before I broke down and bought it. Now I'm sorry I waited so long. I do carpentry/handyperson jobs and work alone, so the Jawhorse is invaluable. I'm also a 57 year old woman, and the one downside of the Jawhorse is that it's quite heavy to carry and put in my truck. Even so, I use it constantly/ and it's better than a second person. What I particularly like is the safety it affords. I had to cut a short piece of 6 x 8 and holding that block while cutting would have been dicey at best. The Jawhorse allowed me to focus on the cut and not worry about securing the block. Definitely a winner.
