Tools and Hardware Reviews of Rockwell RK9000 JawhorseCustomer Review: easily tipped over. Summary: 3 Stars
I operate a handyman service and work alone all the time. Purchased the jawhorse as a way to overcome
a second person. The clamping force is really impressive as is the heavy duty construction. It unfolds easily
in a few seconds. I did; however, discover one troubling problem of having a tri-pod stance instead of a four
legged base. It will tip over quite easily if you apply force or have something heavy which hangs out to the left or right of the jaws. I clamped a 2x8x12 so I could rip several 2inch by 7 foot pieces and found the weight of the saw resting on the board toppled the jawhorse immediately. I had to hold up the board as I made the rip cuts, which adds a level of risk. This thing should have had a fourth leg. I still love the jawhorse and will simply have
to adjust my use of it to match the capabilities of the tool.

Customer Review: Third hand Summary: 5 Stars
I am very impresed buy the consruction quality of this item, real heavy duty, great. I have used it to hold angle iron while I drilled and ground on it. Sawed boards and etc. The Jawhorse hold material just as good as any other vice that I have ever used and it is portable, you don't have be confined to a work bench. I think back and can remember hundreds of times i could have used the Jawhorse. It would have make my job easier and safer. The safty aspect of the Jawhorse should be a selling feature all by it self, no more sawing with one hand because of holding material with the other hand or holding material with my foot. Never liked using hand clamps. The Jawhorse will make my project easier, safer and quicker.
My first project was to make a work platform/miter saw table, it is great.
Using the Jawhorse is like having a helper or a third hand. Don't have to bother the wife!
Customer Review: Well Worth It!!! Summary: 5 Stars
There is nothing better than buying something that you took a risk on and then having it be even better than advertised. This is the case with the Jawhorse!
I am in the middle of a kitchen remodel and am doing 99% of the work by myself. This last weekend I made use of the Jawhorse and it probably cut the time required by 30%. I was able to quickly put anything that needed sawed, pounded, bent into a fixed position and get to work. No clearing a workbench, looking for clamps, etc. Best of all by being able to hold the piece and tighten with your foot, is like have a helper working with you.
The jaws grip tight, the platform is heavy and stable.
My only complaint (I would have knowcked off 1/2 a star), is not having the 48" accessory included. I can see buying the other attachments, but this one is essential.
Money well spent!
Customer Review: Outstanding tool Summary: 5 Stars
I watched infomercials and read reviews on the jawhorse before buying. I was a little hesitant to buy due to the price. However, all the reviews I read were about projects just like ones I'd done and struggled with, because I didn't have a way to securely hold my stuff. I splurged and bought one. It arrived in just a few days. I tried it out on a bird house I was building and it will hold the smallest part securely but gently enough to keep from doing damage. I started working on a project repairing and painting my garage and the jawhorse has worked well as a work bench for holding tools, paint cans, roller pans, etc. It also held sheet rock in place while I cut out holes for electrical boxes. in I'm going to work on a door next and I've seen how the jawhorse will hold it in place without having to use my wife. We both love this tool and recommend it highly.
Customer Review: Invaluable tool for working alone. The pull along feature doesn't work tho... Summary: 5 Stars
This tool is invaluable - it has an incredible grip that is great for holding what you're working on. More stable than it looks and VERY fast and easy to use.
I rate it 5 stars and only have two notes on it:
1) You have to develop a feel for how far to push the foot pedal as larger pieces of wood (over 6") can snap along the grain if they are clamped too hard. That being said, just pay attention and you're fine. It's also worth noting that the rubber pads don't leave marks or crush points - even in pine.
2) The picture they show of the person rolling it along is staged. The rolling thing works in theory, however in practice it's awkward and the legs come flying out and jam into the ground (stopping you cold) when you hit a bump. Just carry it (it carries upside down - legs can't come out) and you're fine.
