I bought my Pledge duster kit at WalMart because I was put off by the expensive Swiffer refills and liked the fullness of the Pledge duster. However, WalMart doesn't carry the refills. I questioned the young man working in that aisle at the Supercenter and he mentioned something about having another product to prevent a Swiffer monoply. Yes, 5 shelves of Swiffer products with 2 token items of other brands. So, online was the place to go - yes we have other stores, but I'm here in Walmartland near the headquarters and didn't want to run around looking.
I like the Pledge duster because it is fluffy on all sides and really does a better job than the Swiffer. One duster will go a lot farther. But because you dust with every side, the handle often folds up as I'm using the top side of the duster. Slight inconvenience, I just pop it back out again. I think the original box must have had a newer design of duster refills in it. The front end was bulkier with more of the fluffy dusting surface. These refills are a little skimpy there and the handle sometimes pushes through. All in all, I like these.
