I got one of these and really, really liked it. 20 LED's put out a lot of light, but you can choose to use 10 or 20. It takes 3 D batteries so it goes a long time between battery replacement. It's like a really bright flashlight and small enough to carry around the house easily but a lamp that would stand alone with a gooseneck, which I really needed because I do a lot of crossword puzzles and need a lot of light to read. Then I sat on it. Oops. I immediately went to Amazon and found two sources to get another one, counting cost and S&H variations, they ended up costing the same amount. I ordered, got it in three days, and I'm still in love with it. Best portable light source I own.

Long-Life Lamp This multi-position LED lamp stands 10" tall and functions as a desk lamp, hand-held flashlight, or hanging light, and runs for 20-plus hours on a single set of (3) alkaline D-cell batteries. (Will also take a 4.5VDC female center plug adapter if you've got one.) Has (20) LEDs in a 4" x 2-3/4" oval reflective face that ratchets up and down.
