After reading some of the reviews about other brass sets available here on Amazon, I was more than a little hesitant in buying these since who knows where these things were sourced from and whether or not the same sorts of problems with brittleness are endemic with these as well. But the price was cheap and what the heck, if they crack or shatter right out of the box, shipping back to Amazon for refund or replacement is about as easy as it can be.
All that said, it's been three months and these punches have done everything I've asked of them. I've used even the smallest sized one (1/16, using a brass-headed hammer) on a motor part for a R/C car AND on a pin wedged into a pistol grip (H&K P30), and it didn't splinter into little bits ('knock wood' for its future survival). For the price I have to say that I'm highly satisfied with the results and the product.
