Customer Review: Safety on stairs, placement a consideration

These are exactly what we were looking for. Our basement stairs are not well-lighted. We could hire someone to put in an electric light, because we aren't handy that way. Or we could put in battery operated lights, but would have to turn them off and on as needed. But motion sensor lights come on only when needed and turn off when they aren't needed. They are just perfect and give plenty of light to this dark area. The video shows how they work without any basement lights on.
UPDATE: Based on the comments and in retrospect, I have to say that these lights don't sense motion to the sides very well. If you are coming at them straight on, they will turn on when you are about six feet away, but if you are to one side, you have to be right next to them before they turn on. That should be a consideration in placement.

We have a 4'X6' dark area in our basement. This was our 3rd attempt to illuminate it. First 2 were from "As Seen n TV" section at Walgreens. The "remote controlled" flat fixture ran through a set a batteries every couple of weeks and worked erratically. Number 2 was a lightbulb-shaped Krypton bulb which was too heavy to stick to its warm furnace flue mounting and finally broke from repeatedly falling to the floor. This 10-LED light is perfect. Both bright and light enough. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with sticky-back tape -- only a nail hole - and there is no place in this spot to drive a nail. The light is so compact that there is very little space to apply our own sticky tape without interfering with the battery cover, but we had a super-strength 3M Velcro tape that worked perfectly.Customer Review: Very good light for a closet

For a while, I was looking for a way to light up the rather dark closet in my apartment. This one seems to do the good job. It's light, relatively small, and to my surprise very bright. I liked the fact that when it's set to "auto", it turns itself off after 30 seconds. I just got it and didn't have a chance to test the battery life.
My only complaint is rather limited mounting options. It wasn't meant to be attached to the ceiling like I hoped, only to the wall with a screw or a tape. Regarding the screw hole, I felt it was not wide enough or deep enough for secure mounting. It can be easily dismounted for battery changes and used as a flashlight if needed.
Anyways, it's a good and cheap solution to my lighting problem in the closet.

Let me explain =p
My wife wanted a light near our patio to see the spot our puppy takes her "before bedtime poo". This gives just enough light to see and cleanup the present she leaves. No fuss - just walk in - light turns on. If a blue outworldly light - like those from alien abductions - bothers you, then this light may not be for you =p
Since these come in a two pack, we use the other on our motor-home. Just enough light to see where you're going. Added plus, when someone approaches, it let's 'em know "hey, we can see ya!"

Customer Review: Great Motion/Battery Light

These are unbelievably bright. We had a section of our hallway that was not lit and no way to plug in a night light to see our black dog at night and did not want to get injured tripping over him. This unit fit the bill - bright, battery powered, motion sensor, small. Not sure how long my rechargeable batteries will last as I have only had them a week. The only complaint and the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is they detect motion under any condition thus running the batteries down prematurely. I still love them cause they are so bright. However, if you are buying these for a night light in a bathroom and you are half asleep these may wake you. These can be used in a multitude of places. I may buy more, but further testing is needed.
