Tools and Hardware Reviews of SE Wireless Motion Sensor Light - 10 Super-Bright LEDCustomer Review: Nice Piece of Equipment but... Summary: 4 Stars
...why does every internet site that describes this light indicate that it has a "daylight off function". As the other reviewer, Mathew, wrote before me, that function does not really exist. So if the light is placed in a hallway it's going to go on and off, over and over, all day, day after day, 24/7. I suppose that I could live with that if I hadn't been told in writing that it wouldn't happen because of the built-in daylight off function! Now I'm feeling a little stupid, but will keep the lights anyway... maybe they expected me to keep them anyway! I am only writing in case someone has a solution that I haven't found. g
Customer Review: Works well in our dark hallway Summary: 5 Stars
I was skeptical after getting a couple of other "motion sensor pucks" that didnt trip unless you were right under them (dragon light). This one is up in our hallway and lights up the area adequately for walking through and finding things in the near closet. Planning on getting two more for the other dark recesses in our hallway.
Pros: kids will trip the light even though it's on the ceiling - even the dogs will trip it. Provides enough light to see, even into the nearby closet.
Cons: Blue color. They've got "natural" colored led's, why they don't install them into these products remains a mystery.
Customer Review: Light source distorts colors... Summary: 2 Stars
If you are using this in a location where if the lighting type / source is not going to provide you with good quality light and distorts colors and this won't matter, well then you'll be fine. Note I found the sticky tape the provided was inadequate to hold the light up as well; similar to other reviews. With the couple of hang ups I've noted, I generally I would not recommend this light to anyone unless you simply aren't able to find another option. I was trying to shed a little light in an closet where my shoes are kept that's absent an overhead electric (wired) light. Now I'll have to find another solution.
Customer Review: Works great, but should have a Daylight cut-off Sensor Summary: 4 Stars
One of my primary criteria for a battery powered motion lamp was that it use AA rather than AAA batteries. AA batteries are much less expensive and have much greater energy capacity than AAA types. Few of the other choices used AA batteries. The units arrived on time, work very well, and are nearly perfect for my applications (again, except they should have a photo cell to prevent operation during times when the background light level is high). From a "Price-Performance standpoint, they are at the top of the stack! The absence of the light sensor caused me to remove one of the five 'stars' in the rating.
Customer Review: Requires work to get it to turn on Summary: 3 Stars
I put this in my husband's clothes closet so that he can find things in the wee hours of the morning without turning on the ceiling light and disturbing me. However, it's so dark in the room and closet at that early hour that the light sensor seems unable to detect the motion of the closet door opening. So, we've found that he has to reach up and slide his fingers back and forth across the sensor in order for it to turn on. It does the job of illuminating his closet well without being so bright as to disturb me, but the sensor really doesn't do the job it was supposed to do.
