Tools and Hardware Reviews of SE Wireless Motion Sensor Light - 10 Super-Bright LEDCustomer Review: Good light for the price, but may need quick repair out of box. Summary: 4 Stars
Originally I panned this light and gave it one star. Later I noticed my lights looked different than the photos and I realized both lights I ordered came with the external lenses pushed inside the shell. The lenses cover the motion detector sensor. Once I took the lights apart, cleaned and re-installed the dime-sized lenses with super glue, the lights actually worked much much better. These are cheapos for 8 bucks, so you get a light that is somewhat better than nothing at all. If the batteries last a year, the light is worth 4 stars. I will update this review at a later date.
Customer Review: Poor quality motion sensor Summary: 1 Stars
The motion sensor stopped working after 3 minutes. Received this product on 5th Feb 2010, put in the batteries, and switched to auto mode (motion sensor). The light came on for about 30 seconds then went off. Moved myself in front of the sensor, the light came on again for 30 secs. Repeated it once more and it worked. But after that the motion sensor stopped detecting any motion and refused to light up. Can only use the product as a torchlight now by switching to ON mode. These cheap products from China have disappointed me many times before, so beware.
Customer Review: Works well in closet Summary: 4 Stars
I bought 3 of these. One is now an 8 LED unit. Hope the other two remain 10 LED units. Since they do not have a photo cell I got them for closets that remain dark at all times so there isn't the problem of them coming on in daylight conditions. Mounting on top of door frame isn't easy with only the single mounting hole but does work. Lights come on when the door opens or just as you reach into closet. They are not super bright but are helpful for dark closets. Haven't had them long enough to determine battery life. OK considering the price.
Customer Review: Didn't pay just to have more touch lights! Summary: 2 Stars
Paid for 4 motion sensor units that I expected to light when I'm 4 or 5 ft away.
Instead I got 2 that will light if I'm less than 2 ft away and 2 that light when
I pick them up. Also the 2 that I have to pick only have 9 leds otherwise all 4 units look the same. If batteries had been included might have been worth the cost. The trip down the hall is still turn on a light or carry a flashlight for part of the way. Cannot recommend this product unless you have very low expectations.
Does anyone make a motion sensor rope light?
Customer Review: Great for my dark hallway Summary: 5 Stars
I was a bit skeptical of this because of the price and the previous review, but I like it a lot. I've got it at the curve of my dark stairway so that it turns on at the first or second step either way. I don't really care about the "daylight off" function that apparently doesn't exist because I'm not usually home much during the day, so it really doesn't matter. The brightness can be debated, but it lights up my entire stairway with no trouble...maybe outside it could be different, but inside, it gets most of the area I intended it for.
