Tools and Hardware Reviews of Schlage BE365VCAM619 Camelot Keypad Deadbolt, Satin NickelCustomer Review: Not Bump proof lock Complain to company Summary: 1 Stars
There is a safety issue with this lock. You are paying about 140.00 dollars for the lock DEMAND from the company a better "bump proof" cylinder in the deadbolt. For more information on "bumping lock" go to the web site [...] or GOOGE "lock bumping" Demand more for your money from the company, When I called the company did not seem to care. If more folks call the company might listen. Remember it is your safety and the safewty of your family. Not all burglars kick in doors, there are still stealth burglaries. How fast does your police respond? Maybe it is time to buy a GLock instead of a lock.
THIS IS OBSOLETE TECHNOLOGY HEY CAN I SELL YOU MY ORIGINAL IPOD> YOU ARE PAYING A HUNDRED BUCKS YOU DESERVE MORE CALL SCHLAGE AND COMPLAIN THE MORE THAT COMPLAIN THE BETTER I LOVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH UHOOOO!!! UHOOO!! COMPLAIN AND CALL MULTIPLE TIMES MAKE AMERICA SAFER EVEN THOUGH THIS COMPANY DOES NOT SEEM TO CARE
I always read the 1 star reviews to hear the worst complaints about the item. Since this is a major problem and I expected more from SCHLAGE only 1 star is all that you deserve. Shame on all companies putting profits before customer safety!!!. THIS LOCK NEEDS TO BE BUMPROOF YEP AN UPGRADE HEY HOW MUCH DOES IT COST THEM IF IT IS YOUR HOUSE THAT IS ROBBED, Then you LOSE EVERYTHING Otherwise I like the lock
Customer Review: Key free entry and FUN! Summary: 5 Stars
First I'd like to say that my deadbolt fell apart and I couldn't wait the 4 days it would take to get this over the Holiday weekend. So, I went to Lowe's - where I paid $12 more than the price here (one hundred and seventeen 88). So the "retail" is hyper inflated. My son installed it, I think it took about a half an hour, this includes fixing a fit problem and resetting the codes. It's so much fun! go out - press the button, turn the knob - to come in - even with hands full all you do is press the buttons, turn the knob and open the door. Fantastic. Want to give out keys - instead, give out the code, no need to remember to get duplicate keys made. Some one needs to get in the house and you're not there. No need to leave a key somewhere or "hide" it. Just give them the code, or create one for "emergencies" this thing will hold 19 user codes. You can even change the programming code to your unique one. There's a great video on YouTube from Schlage showing you how to program it, too. I'm not sure how long it will last, but it's built very solidly so I expect it to last for years and years. I would have gone with the Link had it not been for the exorbitant monthly service fee.
Customer Review: Perfect for our rental house Summary: 5 Stars
The Schlage digital keypad deadbolt was a perfect solution for our rental house. We replaced the standard deadbolt with this unit and can now change the lock code between visitors, and more importantly, don't have to be present to hand out keys - visitors can arrive whenever they want with the code I've already given them via email.
We decided on this style lock (where the keycode simply enables the knob) instead of the fully automatic (where the keycode actually activates the movement of the deadbolt) because it uses less electricity meaning the battery lasts longer AND because deadbolts don't always line up perfectly, so being able to turn the handle while giving a slight pull or push on the door makes all the difference in opening or locking as the weather gets warmer and colder and doors and doorjams expand and contract.
The manual key over-ride works well too. We had to read the directions to realize that the manual key works by putting it in and pushing while turning to engage it with the knob handle. It works just fine even when the batteries are dead or removed.

Customer Review: Fantastic and simple to install Summary: 5 Stars
I can't say enough how wonderful it is to not have to dig for my keys anymore standing in the cold. now i can just punch in my code and i'm in. my wife loves this too. i could never go back to old fashioned keys. it has secondary and remprogrammable codes too. so if you need to let someone in, you give them the backup code and just change it later. it's great. I love that it does have a keyhole also just in case the battery runs out. The batter indicator light flashes red when it's low so you're notified plenty of time before it needs changing. to change the battery is extremely simple. 2 screws on the inside part of the case inside the house, the cover comes off easily and you change the 9volt battery. the batter lasts a long time, so far i'm already several months in and the light still flashes green. if i have to change this battery once every 6 months i'd still be more then satisfied. it's got a beautiful silver chromish finish, it's heavy duty and extremely easy to install. i had this one installed in about 10 minutes.
Customer Review: nice lock, instructions could be better Summary: 4 Stars
This lock works as advertised, really great solution to avoid carrying keys around. My wife who hates technology even likes it!
One thing that might be useful if you purchase this is that you may think you are missing a screw because the inside latch plate only comes shipped with the upper screw attached. This screw is for SHIPPING and is longer than the 2 that are provided to actually attach this to the lock. It can be set aside, and is not used. The 2 smaller screws are found in the plastic bag that accompanies the lock. Also, you'll need to rotate the inner cam to the "use" position before removing the 2 INTERIOR screws that will allow you to take this lock out of the packaging (it ships screwed in to a piece of foam).
These are 2 simple issues, but not covered in the otherwise decent manual.
Also, if you plan to bore you own door, the manual says to go to the website, but doesn't specify the exact address. The address for all support for this lock is at
